I have an elgato HD60, and if the problem is not connecting because of usb 3.0 cable, you should buy a cable that is 10gbps, I recommend belkin Usb 3.0 10gbps. Works for me😊

Omg I think with this video it will help me big time on setting up my stream. I’ve basically had all elgato accessories to get a stream going however only thing stopping me was my 2012 MacBook Pro 😅 but I finally upgraded to a 2020 MacBook Pro M1 chip and now I’m ready to start connecting all my stuff. I’m actually just waiting for a usb-c adapter to connect the hdmi cable 😂

This is similar to my setup except no Mac. And I use an acer nitro 5 and a cheap Acer slim. One for streaming and one for chats. Also, on a 50" TV instead of a monitor. But the general setup is the same. Very nice!

okay so im seeing a lot of conflicting information. essentially what i want is to have all of the audio that goes into my headset (connected to my xbox controller). whether i am in a party, game chat or discord (through xbox) to go to the stream. do I need the chat link cable to make this work? @midnightman help!

What you aren’t really explaining is what if you want to use the headset and not use the mic audio in which you described. So what we don’t need another source mic for the output if we are just using our headset???

Do you have any idea why the gameplay wouldn’t show up on OBS through the capture card? I have the hdmi plugged from the monitor to the capture card and from the Xbox to the capture card as well as from the capture card to the Mac book. My gameplay is showing on my monitor , and the face cam is showing on my Mac. But the gameplay on the Mac isn’t coming through. Any idea?

I am going to set up a streaming system for your 13-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter (also in my 5th decade I think I am ready to pick up my sticks again. Just bought PS5 Madden 25 today.) There are ways to reduce the price of things. An Elgato hd60x capture card should run you much cheaper for no sacrifice in quality if you don't stream 4k. The fancy webcam he has isn't necessary and a $50 one should be fine as long as its 1080p or higher. I know blue Yeti microphones are superb for their price. Under $100 All other accessories can be bought on a budget such as lighting, boom arms, etc.

All the mac I’ve seen cost basically £799+ so would this setup still work if i buy a mini pc and got a secondary budget monitor? I feel like the only problem would be having to connect the capture card to the Xbox and the mini pc but then having to connect the mini pc to the 2 monitor but I don’t even know if that would be a problem?

I only have one monitor, so do I need another monitor to stream and play? like what screen to I look at to play the game when the xbox display goes through the capture card. I'm kinda starting to understand, but still very confused about the audio tracks. Will adding the capture card as an audio track only record the game sound and my party track, but not my headset mic (that's what I'd prefer) therefore leaving me able to use my usb mic for the stream itself all while I'm chatting to my buddies over the headset mic. I'm scared of echoing my voice. I should probably then just keep the mic monitoring feature tured off otherwise I'll have double my voice. An updated indepth tutorial for Windows 11 in 2024, please, I beg!

I have this same setup but for some reason, my game audio isn't passing through to stream. I can see it in the audio mixer section and the bars are "bouncing" with game audio but that audio isn't going through to twitch. Any thoughts?

With the new ps5 update bringing the dolby atmos audio format to the sound settings, is it possible to have my format set to dolby atmos and still be able to hear my game on stream while using the elgato HD60X with OBS? I have noticed that my console sound is not recorded in OBS whenever my ps5 sound setting is turned to dolby atmos. But it works just fine when the ps5 sound is set to linear PCM. Any way to fix this so that I can have it working when set to dolby atmos?

I have a $35 capture card and everything shows and powers on including the capture card audio but doesn't show my gaming screen in OBS just a black screen. Can i use the evga capture card on ps5 while using my own wireless headset and have the game chat audio pass through to obs without a chat link cable or sound mixer like the Arctus nova pros?

Majority of wireless headsets won’t work because the audio will only go from PS5 to headset and not the capture card. If listening from PS5 you have to use a wired headset with chat link for it to work. Otherwise, you can listen to all your audio from computer wirelessly passing the PS5 audio over HDMI. Just monitor and output the audio source in OBS from capture card.

I got one quick question, if I wanted to use an Elgato X and I’m using a 2021 MacBook Pro, would you recommend not using a USB-C hub and still using a high speed C-C to plug it into my laptop ? It crazy bc I started my stream for streaming mortal kombat on Xbox with a MacBook. Not to mention I’m 6’3” and also from Philly which means im an eagles fan too. So this video is absolutely perfect for me. But I did experience 1 problem. I got elgato capture card and key light but elgato software doesn’t work on Mac OS. Can you make this work with Fortnite game chat audio? When a wireless headset is connected the game chat audio is not passing through the capture card by HDMI only way I've found is by using wired headsets and chatlink pro cable.
