That's fun. And a great tip on getting rid of the bouncy problem. Now you need to make it so you have a switch at each end that lowers the gondola. Then a switch to lift the gondola, ride you to the other end, stop and lower the gondola. That way you wouldn't have to get out of the boat.

I like it! Be even cooler automated. sensors on the pillar drop the fryer basket, sensors in the basket detect the boat pick it up, and away you go. The boat could have a low fuel mode where only 1 or 2 thrusters operate.

Great episode! Maybe you should let each fuel tank supply one booster on each side. That way you won't start drifting to one side if one one of the tank runs out before the other..

Put 4 small pipes pieces or like rock sliders under the boat as it has low friction so you guys can slide accross the ground smoothly and efficiently

Hey that works pretty well! You should put 3 low friction blocks on the bottom of the boat so it rides on them if you really need to use it on land.

The system works great, and you guys have inspired me to follow through on a design I theorized might work better with fewer points of contact. I might do my first creative project since I first started the game, and needed to practice making one car before I dove into survival. I immediately made a Beverly Hillbillies style Jalopy out of wooden crates and scrap pipe pieces I tore off of farmer settlements. I am purposefully leaving it with a scrap seat and engine, with one headlight, and retaining a single scrap wheel since driving on 4 of them is unbearable. I did put two normal chests on the back to represent the fact that it's a type of truck. I gotta hang a bucket on the back for roadkill. Probably on the scrap wheel side, to weigh it down so I can minimize bouncing and take advantage of the extra friction on a scrap wheel. Welp, I know what *I'm* playing tonight. Besides Project Zomboid.

12:30 Kosmo and kAN, I cannot stress this enough, make at least 1 pillar on every chunk I made a monorail once to an island that was a 5+minute swim, and while building it, the entire monorail (also connected to the farm) flipped over because the last pillar was beyond loading distance. It messed up everything

pipes, not the smallest ones. Those have super small friction. Dont believe directly friction meter. It is about contact area. I did put pipe bends under my boat. And it speeds up like a pod racer, overland :D

Ideas: 1) Put the pistons on a timer so they fire one after the other (instead of all at once) so you can ramp up the speed without making it jerky. 2) Make the lowering mechanism base itself on a sensor pointed upward on the base, so it'll lower if there's no boat on it, making it easier to board. (Could maybe automate the whole process, but that might take some fun out of it). 3) With Electric motors, at least, you can do this: Have two motors, one powering one set of wheels at the other powering the other set up wheels. Rig one for forwards and one for reverse. Dunno why that setup works, but that setup works.

1) A controller is far easier than timers. 2) The logic required for automating it would be crazy and not worth it. 3) Or just hook a seat to the motor so it can control both directions.

I learned this the hard way. If you are building up high like your rail start a second one down on the ground. After you get a long ways you can weld the 2 sections together.

Hook up the outer and inner thrusters to each one of tanks. so that way, if one fuel tank is empty, you don´t get the sideways turning thrust. Also you may concider taking at least like one full big chest of spare fuel on it. Don´t forget to keep having it filled up each time at base. That way you won´t have the problem of running out, being out in the middle of the ocean XD

It’s just an idea you should make a pipe line above ground they have a fuel station at your go to your treehouse so you don’t always have to go to the fuel station to get fuel

Collision of the boat with the platform still causes some framerate drops, I think it could be alleviated by having as few collision points as possible I propose building four 1-block wide rods (high friction material) on the platform that would jam into slots in the bottom of your boat (1-2 blocks deep holes) when picked up, on every corner of the bow and stern respectively. So that boat is elevated on these rods and fixed in place as it's being moved. You could alternatively use high friction blocks on pistons that would extend and jam into slots on the sides of your boat, locking it in place. This method worked for me in similar situations, wouldn't hurt to try! This railway thingy looks amazing though

Hey you guys should make it boat powered basically have the wheels free and using a sensor make it go up and down , you could have one sensor to check for the boat connected to a logic gate and another sensor sensing the bar on both sides connected to a logic gate and when the boat is detected make a cage that will lock the boat in and use the thruster on the boat to push the monorail

Super cool rail! But you need to automate it with logic and sensors, so you pull up, it auto drops for you, runs you to the other side and lowers you, then as you leave it lifts, then as you pull up it does the same thin on that side, So sensor sees boat as it pulls up and lowers the carriage, once the carriage gets to the top another sensor starts it moving, Then once it gets to the end a sensor lowers it, then as the boat passes the pillars it raises,

I find that one large rail system as one entity runs worse than breaking it up in to smaller separate anchor points similar to the way you switch up the material. It takes more vertical pillars obviously and looks sort of odd seeing so many if them but it runs much better.

Yaknow manually refining those haybot arms/spines/whatevers is kinda slow and boring. Instead, use your zamboni as your looting vehicle and just chuck the stuff out the window. Come through with your zamboni every 2 or 3 times you go through the building. Saves a ton of time.
