The bend can be done at any stage if the kerf cuts are deeper, up to 3/4 ways thru the material and closer together. That bend will be limp and easy to fasten down. The cuts will close enough to be self supportive in the end so no need to be concerned about thickness.

The question is: Are you down with the Thickness?

Im looking at doing the same idea for a motorbike trailer the problem is the trailer has to be 3ft wide and the camper 5ft and make it removable. probably going to go with a aluminium trailer and install a diesel heater and leisure battery in the trailer. would like to be able to use the trailer separate but im unsure how to do the two bases. 10mm ply on the trailer and then a 6mm ply in the camper base maybe. major issue will be the height if the camper is low and sits over the wheel arches we lose the space inside if its high it will be too high. unless the bed is a frame built the same height as the arches inside with pull out drawers underneath. for materials i like corex and shower foam board like styrowall its foam cased in plastic and is very strong very light and requires no finish or painting just cut to size and screw together

Now that you have used the foam tear drop camper, what would you do different in building another foam tear drop camper? Any designs that you would change?

I have to ask why you didn’t start your roof panels at the bottom of the front wall and have the seam in the middle of the roof

I think that perhaps it's light enough to mount on top of a pickup bed..

I did poor mans fiber ,, Titebond Glue and Canvas. then primer then paint. I might apply more glue next summer to smooth out and sand and paint again. Thanks for your question. Les

You may want to cut tabs into the edges so you have more surface area for your glue on the corners.
