Building a Timber Framed Garage - on TV

Linda Barker presents ITV television's The Home Game, with a timber framed garage construction by The Classic Barn Company. The owners of a classic car wanted to build a large timber framed garage, made from green oak, at their home and the show takes a look to see if it adds value to their country house, on the border of Yorkshire.
Linda Barker walks you through the process of construction and its associated costs, whilst showcasing the timber frame features in and around the garage. Taking a look at the process from start to finish, from ground works through to frame construction and then finally the roofing. An estate agent then re-values the house including its new timber garage.
This particular timber frame garage was filmed in Gringley on the Hill, Doncaster, UK and features our Extra-wide timber construction which is ideal for classic car owners.

I think the main takeaway is that I should move up north, in hampshire it costs half a million for a shed to live in.

You say the sale of the property would cost 33 thousand, but if they didn't add the barn the sale would still cost 30k, so it didn't add that much loss. Next that is just in his area. Building that barn other places would have added value. Since they aren't interested in selling, it is like any Realstate it will only go up in value as long as it's taken care of. So in 20 years this will more then bring his value back.

Beautiful garage and as long as there are posh people paying big money for incredibly inefficient medieval houses that salesman might be right. But what happens once it dawns upon them that heating costs and emissions standards are changing? Maybe a photovoltaic garage would have been the smarter and more responsible way to go.
