So I have a question, I have an 04 gt and I'm starting my turbo build. But I already have the car on bags, the front bags use the spring purches so obviously when I buy my K member I have to get the one with the purches but will headers work with my set up? I want to run Shorty =length but idk if I have space

This is a nice video , I have a 1997 with a v-1 s trim, I’m only making 277rwhp im thinking about either selling the vortech & going with a turbo setup or sending the v1 s trim to vortech so they can upgrade it to a t trim. I know I’ll need some pi heads to make more power aswell. I’m trying to keep it on a budget so I might also just use coyote rods .

About how much power can the stock internals take? I've read somewhere they can't do more than 430-440 without something breaking. I have a 98gt that I want to boost now cause of you guys lol
@RatchetWrenches2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome thanks! You definitely should boost it. And I've heard under 450 is relatively safe. Anything over you're risking the bottom end. But I have heard of one guy blowing his motor at 420hp so it really depends
@doctorsquirts36432 жыл бұрын
you wanna keep it at 400 to the tires to be safe..... 450 is the max for bottom end and that will depend on the tune and engine for how long it survives.... All this info comes from the many years i searched the 2V forums on boosted and nitrous new edges.
@jdllewellyn58022 жыл бұрын
Stock gt uses a forged powder rod. The weakness is not horsepower, because a rod cannot quantify this. The problem is torque curve, and cylinder pressure. We have had a handful make 450-500 on a dynojet and hold up, but why risk something so crucial and not just put a set of rods in. Cobra oem rods are an ibeam manley rod.

@RatchetWrenches2 жыл бұрын
Honestly it depends on your goals with the car! You can have a lot of fun and not break the bank without building the motor for under 500HP. But obviously building the motor is safer and you can crank it up. A common combo is heads and cams though yes. You'll need tubular k member, a arms and coil overs in the front with this kit

What did you build? looks alot like bolt on parts. Congrats on enjoying the project, but let's see some actual building/fab! Not what the new generations think building a car is, by placing an order for ready to fit kits... or in this case ready to make it fit because on3 has no QC. lol

@@RatchetWrenches just want to see building content, and some fab more so than bolting on a kit so many others have done before. plus, on3 just sucks tbh. CG fab has a better hot side, so many better turbos, intercoolers etc and with putting in fab time, you negate a bit of cost to get a MUCH nicer product.
