Turbo is more efficient so you can run more power without seeing any more stress. You can get away with higher power levels with a turbo setup. Many people don't realize this. Your power level with a turbo would be like 430-450 rwhp stress wise because the turbo doesn't take power to make power so you're getting more power without seeing any more stress. That's what appropriately sized turbo will make more than a blower for each boost level.

I had an 01 and 03 GT the last 17 years. Wound up getting hit by a drunk driver in the 03 which totaled it. Took the insurance company payout and bought a 98 Trans Am to replace it. Loved my Mustangs, also had a non PI motor 4.6 97 Thunderbird that I wound up swapping a PI intake manifold on when the factory intake manifold cracked. Had to do some modifications but otherwise it helped HP and torque along with a tune, a Cai, port and polished throttle body, some tokico shocks, cat back exhaust, and high flow cats. Mod motors sound amazing done right.

Depends what your power goals are. But if you're trying to turn it up and make good power a good set of camshafts and a built bottom end will help a lot and would be a good start

I missed it somewhere.. but urs is a 02? with Romeo 4.6? I bought a 2000 gt (164,000 miles) with the Windsor 4.6, automatic, convert, to get around in while my 2002 ws6 convert (that was rear ended by a drunk and totaled) was being repaired and was told for price i cud afford they wud work on it here and there...ended up being 2 yrs :0 anyways my 2000 gt is a salvage beater, top is manual, missing interior parts, ect.. BUT came with BBK CAI, SR lowering springs, SR traction bars, and new black bullet rims and tires..Ive got Magnaflow Competition Series Dual Dump Cat-Back Exhaust connected to the factory H pipe atm, but have Hooker Blackheart xpipe brand new waiting to be installed..bought chrome knockoff "bbk" long tube headers but cant use because mine is a automatic. With my current set up and stock throttle body (i think 65mm) would I get same results as you have with yours? Or do I need the BBK 73mm throttle body and plenum? I dont know of any shorty headers that are made specifically for new edge's with auto do you?

I noticed on their site that you need to purchase their suspension kit to make the system work?! I’m only on lowering springs and was wondering how accurate that is..
@RatchetWrenches2 жыл бұрын
You'll need a tubular k-member to make this kit work since the exhaust on the passenger side goes through the actual k-member. On3 built their kit around the UPR k-member, a-arms and coil over kit which is what I'm running. No issues so far. There is also Team Z which is a good brand

Hey, just wanted to say I love your set up. I've been thing alot on boosting my town car. But, a co-work was recommended turbo. Oh, not sure if your car is drive by wire or spring. If it's drive by wire. I was going to recommended for you to try jms pedalmax. It doesn't mess with any tune that you may have. It just piggy backs to your throttle pedal. Trust me, it makes a huge difference. I have mine on 75% and it's super responsive. I watched alot of KZbin videos on it and thought they where just over Exaggerating. But, it's the best 250.00 bucks i spent.

Thank you! And yeah turbo has more advantages over a supercharger IMO but the superchargers are perfect for instant power. Interesting I'll have to take a look into it. Usually the turbo spools quick enough for me
@rydazim8 ай бұрын
Seems like a smaller turbo is needed. Very shift you’re dropping out of boost. I know this is an older video and you’ve built the motor since then, but I think a smaller turbo would work better for that application.
@RatchetWrenches8 ай бұрын
Yeah it definitely fell on it's face between shifts. I have a smaller but more efficient turbo this go around and also much higher compression so I think it'll be way quicker!

Heck yea man. I’m looking forward to the update. I just got a 99 GT that I threw a bunch of drift goodies at. It’s a bit sluggish at the moment since I’m used to my 07 350z. @@RatchetWrenches That's enough for a good time without getting to wild. Thanks for the video! Mine is so good NA my issue would be id have to stop driving it to complete the project LOL. They keep giving me a company vehicle then taking it away then giving it back... maybe if they'd make up their minds I could commit to taking it out of service for awhile. I just dropped a bunch of money on my personal work truck just for them to give me a brand new F250 2 days later, but I have a feeling I'll lose it the minute they find a new foreman 🤔. Hows your MPG's now? I average 33mpg right now ha. That's why it turned into a work car. Plus who doesnt love ripping around on the clock?! @@RatchetWrenches Well, kinda the same with a Coyote but that engine is just a built 4v Modular n stroked almost to the max.. I think these Mod motors are worth building bcuz the blocks can handle over 1k hp.. Short gears are there to make up a lack of torque. When you already have boatloads of torque, you don't need the shorter gear. Terminators came with 3.55s. You're likely to light up all of first and second, depending on the quality of tire you run.
