I'm wondering if it really makes sense to use the C-Suite Vox here after the gated signal from the SSL. (I own both, too, by the way and love them... :) ) Doesn't C-Suite Vox work in such a way that it filters out the noise from the mic signal by analysing the background noise when there is plain background noise and no "wanted" signal (like a voice) - just like several noise reduction plugins with a kind of "fingerprint" from the noise - but with C-Suite this is happening more or less in realtime? When there is no noise finger- or footprint (due to the gate used in the SSL preamp) how can it work properly?

We think you'll find that C Vox will very much reduce the need for gating. Experiment with different configs to find the one you like best.

you should show the difference you made with your preset on and off, to be honest you should show the different for each plugin you mentioned because they are expensive, you should show the difference they make, it would help to decide to buy

Great setup. It’s a bit too much for my Apollo Solo though. I need the c-Vox to cut out the ambient noise, can’t run all the other plug-ins then. Any tips where I can save on DSP usage? Combined Plug-ins maybe? A DSP savvy preamp? Would be manly for voice /speech.

That fine. Delay comp makes sure that all audio maintains phase coherence as it travels through Console.

This vid is all about Apollos and DSP plugins. Volt does not have DSP, but you can do most of this with Spark in your DAW.

I tried your chain on my Shure SM7B but with the Neve 88RS pre amp instead of SSL. It sounds great but a bit harsh. I needed to dial in the mic pre almost to the max. Would you recommend a mic booster like cloud lifter between my SM7B and apollo twin x? Thanks!

Hey UA, I'm trying to buy the “UAD 4k channel strip” plugin but that and the 4k bus compressor aren't available to purchase on the website. The ssl 400 is but not the 4k versions. They are the first 2 plugins on Console inserts. Any help so I can purchase them?
