Forestry is the only industry you can choose where it’s placed. Oil, ore and farm land are all predetermined on the map from the start, whereas if you place lots of trees in one area then that becomes available for forestry. Handy for future reference if you wanted to go down that road later and not worry about constantly running out of oil or ore.

Trees usually absorb a lot of nutrients from the soil, making difficult to small crops to grow. Even after the tree is no longer there. It's nice to see that they thought of this when programming the game!👏😁

When I first saw your new road layouts few episodes ago I was like: man, this is another grid layout just a bit more curved but still a grid, sooo boring. Now I am like wtf man, how did you managed to make a charming city like that! Inspiring!

Love how the city is turning out so far! You have a wonderful sense for design. My only critique - and this is a personal preference - is that the piers are too bunched together. I would space them out a little more. Otherwise, keep up the amazing work! You're the best city builder on KZbin imo.

I build along, but I have to admit when the rounded street design came along I started to use Move it!. And the fencinhg for the city park. Respect! Great done. I had no chance, so I started to use Anarchy for that.

31:00 I'm guessing the game only allows one kind of industrial specialty resource at a time(at least visually), and planting trees makes it more for forestry than farming, so it's switching from fertile to wooded resource.

Plant trees on the fertile lands will reduce the fertility. That's part of the game mechanic.

I've actually been following along on this same map and have a city which is very similar to the one in this series but with some subtle differences / personal touches. @@angeloaddante4060, along with the base game, i own: - Mass Transit: more public transport option - After Dark: specialized commerce type and International Airport - Parklife: 4 kinds of special parks and several Unique Buildings, get it if you want to use those unused lots with awkward shape and get additional income - Green Cities: cleaner waste treatment and garbage management, and a specialized Office type with lots and lots of skyscrapers (IT Cluster), get it if you want your city to become cleaner, or if you want more skyacrapers Free DLCs i own: Pearl from the East, and Match Day Wishlist: Industries, for more specialized Industry buildings that revolves around Agriculture, Ore mining, Oil extraction, and Lumbering Recommended for you: New Player Bundle (Base Game + Mass Transit + After Dark + one soundtrack DLC), and then the DLC you are more interested in

FYI: I think the placing of trees causes it to switch from farming fertility to lumber fertility in the game code (since it can't be both)

@@angeloaddante4060 The main game should be for sale and that's the game you should buy, the ad-ons and mods will only be able to get if you have the main game. For example you click other cities skylines (like DLC's or Season Edition) you can't buy it because it needs or it requires you to have the main game. Go ahead and get the "cities skylines game that has no decorations on thumbnail". I think Cities skylines is around $15 plus Enjoy, I hope I can also buy it someday 🙂

@@angeloaddante4060 def gotta buy... there's one that's the main game (usally around 40$), the others (usually around 15$) are dlc packs.. you really only need the main game to enjoy yourself. hope it helped.

(I guess I would also have less roads cross the park, and maybe make those into highway roads without sidewalk.) 24:29 "The only buildings that you can put right alongside the water in park areas, the city park specifically, are these piers" - I think you can also put your nature reserve water buildings (which you couldn't put into the nature reserve because it had no water) inside the city park. They are compatible. (I'm not sure whether they contribute to the city park's entertainment value, though.)

Great video again. I do have a question for you : as I mentioned before, I am following you by mimicking you in my target clone city and at 10:07, you mention putting in a new cemetery at that location. I already had one there because you put it there in an earlier video. Is it possible you put a new one somewhere else? The reason why I ask is that I ran into a major death care issue in my version of your city by the time I got the Park built. I know that the game will differ between your city and my clone but it usually isn't too far off.

Right before 8:15 a very small park with a fountain is placed near the river in the low density residential area, anyone know where this park came from? I have every DLC and I do not have this in my parks menu.
