PM me an address I'll send you some commercial 5 minute leak detector it has a 1000% higher surface tension than windex and has no alkaline in it with this stuff if you have a leak it will produce a big bubble blossom like foam, much easier to detect small leaks , windex is a very bad way to go you'll miss more leaks than you'll ever find

Hey Mike that swing arm engine mount spacer isn't just a spacer it's a locator. It keeps the bolt centered. I lost one on mine and ran it without that spacer and I ended up cracking the case from the engine moving up and down. I ended up getting a new case and I made new spacers from Washers that had an ID of the bolts OD. Just wanted to give you a heads up and save you the headache.
@MichaelSabo
@MichaelSabo Жыл бұрын
@@motododo4626 I can see how that would reinforce the cases from moving. I’d have to have a larger OD to be perfect. Something for the next tear down when I do the 240 kit. Thank you for the heads up!

I’ve had my 2004 blaster for probably almost 3 years, (im 14 currently), when my dad bought it, it had a 240 kit on it and I took it for one ride at croom and it blew up, because sand had gotten in the engine because the air filter wasn’t on all the way. Engine was fully rebuilt top and bottom end, has a toomey exhaust with fmf slip on, 400ex rear shock, banshee front shocks, and a lot of other modifications, and I love it. Thank you for rebuilding this ultimate crispy chicken sandwich blaster, it means a lot to the quad family to see an ATV being restored. 😊

Love this series and looking forward to the competition! I know I sound like a broken record, but yet another fantastic video. The amount of work and attention to detail you put in your builds is top notch. Plus the super production quality, just know such time and effort does not go unnoticed. Add in the real world mistakes, failed parts, delays, and typical issues that plague any real build. Instead of hiding them, you include the viewer, and often resolve them in a real world way. Add legit frustration, and humor too! ✌🤘 P.S How about a Suzuki? You know the first gen LT250R's (85-86) are supposed to be the lightest full size sport quads ever made. I'm talking less than 300lbs. The 86 is better to start with, and granted neither one has a usable stock front suspension, that's not hard to fix, and the engines can be modified to run strong, despite most people dissing a non-power valve engine. Even the more better 87-92's are around 330-340lbs.

Hi, my name is Mike 53yrs old, auto body and painter. I don't know why I haven't found your channel earlier. So far I've watched your banshee, tri Z, and blaster builds. I must say I love your work. Love your attention to detail as I'm that way as well. I couldn't believe the spring on the kickstart, that idea was genius, there's no way that will come out, it would have to come straight out of it did. My history of quads my first was the Honda 250r that I was in love with and like to have one today. Only mods I did was a muffler, radiator airs scoops, nerf bars, rear grab bar. My second was a Suzuki 250, only mods was I painted the plastic yellow with flex with pearl blue and looked incredible, made my own decals as well by hand, I used to work at a sign shop. Third was Polaris predator. Only mods was red neon/ led lights all up inside the plastics and headlights. I miss them so much. I always wanted a blaster for fun. One with built motor and wider rear excel front a arms and longer swing arm. I was hoping you where going to do that on this build. Anyways keep up the good work and I look forward to catching up on your videos and future ones as well.

Dude! Knocked it out of the park with this one! My son likes the name too. Thinking a few more years and I'll be building one for him as well.

Always exciting when mike drops a new video! One thing I would suggest is that with the dielectric grease it is actually not a conductive material, in fact it’s actually insulator. On low voltage connections I’ve seen it cause connection issues but if everything is working for you then I wouldn’t go back and change anything about it!

My dad and I got a 750 dollar blaster. The same engine mount bolt was missing, a-arm bushings were shot, tie rods were shot. It looked like a calico cat, didn't run, a clutch bolt and spring was gone and didn't work. Took it down to bare frame and the very front moter mount on the frame was broken but the bolt was there, so we got a new frame. Long story short, it was a piece of crap. Still working on it, but these videos give me confidence.

Nice build, my pops left his 2000 Blaster in the backyard, trying to get it going mechanically. This is a great inspirational educational video for restoring earlier quads.

I always left my blaster airbox lid off. I got mine from a kid that didn't use it anymore. But his grandpa was pretty knowledgeable and did all the work to the machine. It was ported to my surprise when I opened it up a year after getting it.

Nice two things I’m so glad you put grease on the axle spline’s and when cutting the threaded rod on the brake boost I usually run a jam nut past the cut once cut I back the nut off and it will push the burs off or fold it over where you can run the Clevis on without having to use a tap , that’s just if your in the field and you don’t have a tap , Great work man I hope I can have enough money one day to build me a bike from beginning to end like this

I love this build. I believe di-electric grease is NOT a conductor, so you need to be careful where you use it. Correct me if I am wrong. LOVE THE CHANNEL!

Thank you man! This is from CRC - www.crc.co.nz/Dielectric-Grease-Blog/7064/ It says that it "ensures conductivity," I'm not sure if that means that the grease is actually conductive or it just improves/protects conductivity.
