Building an Octave Mandolin / Mando Guitar Part 4: New Bone Saddle & Nut

In this video: Sizing a new Bone Nut & Saddle blanks and filling the Bridgepin holes with Walnut plugs.
This guitar was found on the side of the road in the garbage - my friend picked it up and gave it to me to see what I could do with it. I think I have decided to turn it into an Octave Mandolin / Mando Guitar... crazy, right? I was inspired but some beautiful Octave mandolins made by Northfield instruments. It has some issues with the headstock, but other than that, it is in very good shape. Let me know in the comments what you think. Stay tuned for more videos to come in the series.

Forgive me if I’m missing something here but why are you drilling through the body just to plug the bridge

The holes already went thru the body, just made them a little wider for the plugs.
