I will be using corrugated plastic to form the hull which will be covered in bondo and painted. The transmitter, receiver, servo and motors are from an old helicopter that was destroyed.

Thank you!! This was exactly what I needed for my home made boat plans. Thanks for taking time to share this.

It's actually against city codes to place signs on public lands (like in a ditch or on a powerline post). Anytime I see them, I pull them up, stack the signs up to be reused, and use the wire frames in my homestead gardens. Insert them into the dirt and they are great to tie plants to. I take the plastic signs, punch several holes into the edges, string them together with twine to make a box, and pack fruits and veggies into them to deliver to the local farmers market. So thank you to all the people who leave those signs out for me to collect.

I hate those signs posted all over the place also, good for you for taking them down, and recycling them as well!

The plastic name is Corflute. It is very temperature sensitive too. It will stretch along the fluted length a considerable amount depending on temperature and humidity. Very poor template making material. Long skinny pieces are the worst.

Mark both sides of the zip tie n then split the difference... straight down the middle. I wanna build an RC boat so bad coz we have an AWESOME spot near me. Im pretty damn good at Geometry drawings. 3d curves i ALWAYS use a Zippy n split the difference. NEVER FAILS

Hi. Interesting vid. I use this plastic real estate board stuff to build rc jet aircraft. rather than stitching it together, which must take a long time, why not just use hot melt glue ? Saves a lot of time if you're not good at stitching (like me). Thanks for posting.

hot glue sucks up water i here ill look into it but a hate it well the normal cheap stuff anyhow ..lol its good for hold stuff wile real glues set up

There was a time when there were a lot of great inventors and innovators. KZbin comments are living proof of why that time is in the past and there are so few current inventors and innovators nowadays. I have to wonder if the first people who learned how to make fire were shunned and told they were doing it wrong, because they didn't wait for lightning to make it like it had always been done before. Nice project. Let the haters sit in the cold and dark and complain about the newfangled fire making that is all the rage. They can wait for lightning to make them some fire.

I did mine out of Pizza boxies fiberglass with Polly resin fun project.hydro foil.
next time if you are working on the cheep you can use blue-jean material with fiberglass. Not as good as FG but in a bind its ok.

Due to being an Orthotic Technician i was contemplating using EVA Block cut into pieces and formed to make a Blank then Vacuum form it... but still need guudelines to grind to lol. I want a Batman style build with the split twin cones at the front. More pain for me in the design process but gonna be worth it. I know NOTHING about the RC Part 🤣🤣🤣

Hummmm, boat made from trash. I wonder where I could find thread, needle, epoxy, bondo, spray paint, hardware (prop, U-joint, etc) foam, etc in the trash? Still....nice project, and I learned something. That is good! Should be an abundant supply of signs in just a few months as the Presidential race heats up....IF it can heat up any more than it is already!
