Can I ask why u move so far away from the hole ur fishing when landing ur fish? Not referring to ur larger fish but even with ur smaller fish in the first and second sessions ud move maybe 30 yards out of ur hole to land ur fish. Im definitely not trying to tell u how to fish cause ur levels above me and im well aware of that haha just seemed to be a lot of time lost simply because of the amount of time it would take u to get back to the hole to get line back into the water. Also can i ask what size freezer full u was fishing? What an epic day on the water. I only dream about days like that! Thanks for taking us along Bob. Was such a pleasure to watch this one for sure. Great video to say the least!

Weber, I have the most success on this river with walts worms. As always good times on the river for sure! How you liking your Border Net Clip?
@TroutFlies2 күн бұрын
I'm mixed on the Broder, It's nice to secure something in place, but it's a liability in swift water above your knees if it's sitting on your belt. I'm currently playing around with a multiple attachment point system for different wading conditions.
@andrewexon33582 күн бұрын
@@TroutFlies -- You are having a similar experience that I'm having. If I'm wading in deep enough water (water is rushing through my net) it actually will pop out, and the sticky material ended up coming off. I had to glue the piece to my net. But it popping out is still occurring.
@NOODINSRESEARCH8 күн бұрын
I used to fly fish the Weber River stretch around Taggart. Big browns in there. I like to go fly fishing anywhere in Utah especially the Seiver River and Fremont. My best fish out of the Weber River was just over 4 lb. I'm sure you are aware there huge browns in the Weber River and rivers I mentioned above. I'll be a following along with you now.

It depends on your budget, but the Diamondback Ideal Nymph in the 10' 2wt is hard to beat for performance/value. It's more like a 3wt in power. I'm running two of them as my main competition nymphing rods.

Hello Bob - Are you fishing the Green Drake hatch on the Middle Provo this week (2024)? Flows are way down. Thanks SteveMD.
@TroutFlies14 күн бұрын
I'm not sure I'm going to make the Green Drakes this year unfortunately (at least on the MP) because right when I think it'll peak, I'll be in Idaho fishing a couple of competitions. Generally after the water drops it takes a week or so for the summer bugs to even get started. I would bet it would start down towards deer creek next week and would peak somewhere in the second week of July. Are you gonna get out and try and chase them?

Do you ever catch the salmon in strawberry? or the musky on trout rigs?
@TroutFliesАй бұрын
I haven't caught a Koke at Strawberry yet. It'd prolly take a type 7 line which I do sometimes, but usually I'm fishing over top of them. I haven't caught a Musky on the fly yet, but I did throw my streamer up tight to the shallow cover when at Scofield hoping for at least a follow.

What midge rip do you use? 3' clear or 6'clear. Explain the difference?
@TroutFliesАй бұрын
I use Rio's Premier Midge Tip in the 3' Intermediate. The 6 will get you down a little more and a little more quickly. The 3 is better for shallower water and fishing slower.
