Filament shelves and a huge 3D printer enclosure built while renovating the filming studio. Custom-designed furniture and lots of 3D-printed parts.
I'm still working on sharing the cable cover 3D print STL files.

Just so you know, you have encouraged me to design useful things for my own house and family. Just yesterday, I designed and printed a skirt for a table in my house where my kids toys would get lost underneath. When I do little projects like that, I finally feel like the maker I've wanted to be. Thanks Mihai

Makes super fancy holder for power strips.... Uses two screws in the back to mount LED power supply.... and to hold up LED strips... Then makes super fancy covers for the L brackets while getting hit in the head with bracketless LED strips. 😆🤣 I do love the video though! 👍

Hole saws really struggle with "chips" and can seem like it barely cuts as a consequence. It's good to drill a hole in the circumference of the hole you're drilling to allow clearance of the wood that it's sawing through. So you drill the small starter hole, let the outside of the hole saw touch. Then drill another small hole lined up for the edge of the hole saw. Then resume drilling using your previous hole as a guide. That way the cut material clears the saw teeth on each revolution.

I bet the glue on the aluminium strip kept coming off due to the heat from the LED's. Even just a little can make some tape come loose from smooth surfaces like melamine

I've found that, when I start with a painted or glossy surface, wiping down the surface with alcohol does wonders for improving adhesion (probably getting rid of leftover oils from the manufacturing process). Acetone will also work, but it'll screw up paint and the room will smell like acetone.

I think your double sided tape was failing because the aluminum strip got hot. The same thing will occur if the entire cabinet is heated. It'll probably happen again either side of your bolt. I'd suggest short self-tapping screws.

To be honest, I don't think the aluminium backing for the LED strips is even necessary. Ideally, you want to under-run LEDs a little bit if possible to extend their lifespan, but even at full power most adhesive LED strips shouldn't require special heat dissipating backing (at least in my experience, anyway). If the non-wood screws fail and the strips come down again, I would consider redoing them without the aluminium, which would also give you a chance to fix the messy end if you're so inclined (also, consider heatshrink instead of loads of electrical tape and silicone 😛). Not sure how I feel about those aluminium extrusions, but everything else is great 👍. I particularly love the inserts you made for the power holes, and I agree with your brother's second design being my favourite as well, it's very slick.

you could put two lines of the adhesive gasket per shelf layer which puts the spools between the two so they cant roll around. similar to the idea of having a spool sit between two dowels.
@ge2719
@ge2719 11 ай бұрын
double sided adhesive doesnt work well under hot conditions. so the lights heat up the aluminium and the weight of the metal will make it fall off. LED strips themselves are light enough that the adhesive on them is less likely to fail, but something like an aluminium strip you wont get it to stay up with double sided tape. unless its a specialist one that rated to work at hotter temps

That was a really fun video, must've taken a lot of editing. Very nice work and a quality setup. I'm always surprised at the size of European 220v outlets, our 110v outlets in Canada are very small and they put them on anything, I have a desk lamp with two 110v outlets on it and a tower outlet bar with 12 outlets. They even put a couple outlets on top of our electric ovens. I'm always jealous of the amount of filament you have, are they mostly from sponsorships? Do you have a storefront? I'd love to see a video on your business and how you make a living. Take care! From NS, Canada 🇨🇦

I know you must be sick and tired of all the technical questions but it looks like you printed parts directly on the high temp plate without adhesive. I did that once with PLA and it left pretty substantial „stains“ and since then I’ve used adhesive. Do you have any recommendations for the high temp plate?

They are all brand new. If you are interested I will make a list. I know there are ender 5, 6, cr20 belt, cr-6e max cr-6e, ender s5, Tevo and even some speciality ones in kit form. I was going to make a printer farm, but my health took a turn for the worst and now I can’t work. Need to recoup as much as I can. They are all boxed and unopened. The only thing is I’m in the UK
