if you want a stupidly easy way to clean a 3d printer plate use Dykem remover. I use it at work on ours and it gets a build up encrusted plate back to new in no time.

If you make your own design you should avoid the straight cut gears for filament feed it's a bad engineering design to use straight cut gears like that especially with direct drive.

Printing 1 multi color print makes the same amount of poop as printing 10 of the same multi color model.

Straight ut gears like that are usually a very bad engineering solution because the speed of the teeth meshing when one gear drives the other is actually not constant and those straight cut gears have a lot of pay and backlash. Good gears would have a helical shaped teeth with an involute cut but they're also more money.

Next time use the same printer but remove the enclosure.
