Personally had my rig worked on in Adams shop and he took the time to give me a tour and answer all my questions. Awesome guy and super knowledgeable. Just hard to get down to earth people and professional like this shop offers. I had a total crossmember failure on a new build from another shop in Vegas and Adam got me in on a rush and back on the trail in 2 days. Saved me a ton of money. Better prices then the other shop and i have HAMMERED on it since with no second thoughts about the work since Adam signed off on it. I can't say enough good things about them. If your into some serious offroad madness don't miss out on the opportunity for the best service prices and above all the toughest gear you'll ever rip! Hats off to you Adam! MadRam11 as always thanks for the content! Safe wheelin

Is there a standard for housing width? Is it possible the lengthen the track width so that you can run larger tires? Forget the whole spacer crap, can the axle itself be a coue inches wider.
@MadRam11 Жыл бұрын
They can make them wider.
@ryanrich9186 Жыл бұрын
@@MadRam11 so I am assuming this is a some what uncommon modification because I can't seem to find much about it. I have been racking my brain on what to do to get a little more space to swing the big tires from lock to lock. It only makes sense to lengthen but I didn't want to run rockwells. So lengthening the housing, I assume I can order axle shafts that are longer as well?

I want to convert a motorhome based on the Ford F-53 to 4x4 for snow and mild off-road use. Stock front axle goes up to 9k GAWR with typical loads close to 7k. Wheels are 19.5x6.75 with 10x225 bolt pattern around 170mm (6 11/16) hub bore. Critical dimensions are all safely bigger than Rockwell 2.5 ton dimensions and I'd very much like to keep stock wheels and tires. Dana 80 is 11k. 4"/0.5" tubing exceeds 11k. Rockwell 2.5 ton parts are 11k. I trust Crane and Ouverson knuckle and hubs to exceed. I guess I need an offset diagram to make more progress on this idea.

So...if you are able to get a new D80 center section from I don't know...Dana, then can you also get from them a Dana 70 HP housing that was used in the Kodiaks? I love me an 80 and all but there's just something even more badass about a high pinion 70 up front instead of a low pinion 80.
