With more and more people building up their Jeeps JK Wranglers with 40" tires and pushing them with the kind of big horsepower that a HEMI or an LS swap will provide, there's been a real demand for an axle that can handle the abuse and Dynatrac has the answer for it -- the ProRock 80! With an 11.25" ring gear, a 2" diameter pinion, 40 spline 4340 full float shafts and all packaged in a high clearance, light weight rigid housing, there really is nothing out there that comes close to all that you'll get with this axle. In this video, you'll get to see exactly how it's made and right here in America!

I've always appreciated the work of a machinist since both of my parents were in similar businesses...it seems like an art that is perfected over time and they absolutely make it look much easier than it really is to create out of hunks of metal, something that will work, work right and be durable and impressionable...give those folks a raise! : )

This is why I taught myself to setup my own axles. There is no way around the labor involved with setup......rather learn to do it myself than pay someone to spend hours setting shims, bearings and lash. Much pride from 10 years of crawling on 44's I did on my own.

How'd you learn? I've been slowly acquiring tools as I work on my Cherokee. I'm getting to the point now where re-gearing etc. would be a very handy thing to learn.

I can remember back in the early 80's asking both Dynatrac and Currie about putting a full floater 60 in the back of a 79 bronco, they both asked why would you want to do that? So I did it myself, I did a hybrid 44F (Tracloc) front 8 bolt conversion and added discs to the rear (Detroit Locker)..

I was always told not to put grease on a bearing that will be in an oil bath (pinion), It seem like it wouldn't matter but I've been chastised by mechanics for even suggesting it, but I see you guys do it. Awesome video. Even more awesome axles.

James Lowell they sure are bullet proof , but 90% of all those people who put them on their Jeep's , drive on paved roads to Walmart grocery shopping , that's as much of a harsh use they ever see. :) just like those LED light bars they on the trucks but we all use them once in a blue moon

Most dont know whats involved in setting up a good diff. Ring and pinion alone can take hours. If you dont have over sized bearings to set up shims its a nightmare. Ide hate to see the bill. I bought currie 9s front and rear for my cj 20yrs ago and spent more than i paid for the jeep but its nice to fix a problem once and for all. It would take serious abuse to break a dyna 80.
