I always figured it was supposed to be a good example of a healthily structured family unit, which lets the kids know what the expectations are, and where parents trust the kids to fulfill appropriate expectations. Plus that dad is clearly pretty casual

I thought the ending will be that finally the husband (he was doing a good job helping his wife) will be so overwhelmed by all the tasks which his wife normally does and that he values her on a higher level.... So what was the moral of the story? Involve your kids in your actions? If I got it right, I do agree with that.
