Just picked up my D-4.800 with an ACR-3 and an LC-1.800 yesterday. I'm working on finishing my amp racks now that I have the amps. It's all coming together nicely and now I just need some more power/ground wire. These amps are really nice. The ACR-3 has a nice tactile feel. Can't wait to get this done.

Unlike other companies that release a half finished product, and expect the user to discover the issues, they went through extensive testing to prove everything was good prior to release. Engineering (especially anything software related that has to work on a million phones, with a million different revisions of operating systems) takes time.

The threaded inserts is the one tool that will step my build up to the next level. Joy oh Joy yeah I think that is part of the Joy of Custom Fabrication! If it went together easy, I don't think it would be as fun. After trimming looks better. We are in the same perfectionist ocd boat.

I noticed that when people build sub boxes, they utilize depth for the port. Can you utilize height (like directing air up and around) instead of using the traditional way to build a sub? The reason I ask is because I have a plan to build a ported box with the subwoofers below the port opening. It’s not designed for a ton of bass but is more of an artistic build that would go with two 10s or four 8s. Its design is an all in one with a separate channel for the woofers as well as the electronics on the reverse and only takes up the back wall space between the back of the rear seats and trunk lid. This is to keep most of the original function.

@theangryhog5 жыл бұрын
Nice work as always. A few questions though: why did you not countersink the threaded inserts for the lower portion of the floating shelf like you did the others? This would ensure the lower portion (L-shaped) is sitting flat on the bottom piece, rather than only making contact at the 3 threaded inserts. Also, as nice as this looks, I think you could've benefited from using standoffs (metal rods) between the shelf and the base. This would allow more airflow for the sub amp, require less fabrication, and you could've avoided the RCA issue. Not hating, just an alternative I was curious if you considered. Granted, your design provides more stability, but I think the standoffs would've been more than sufficient, given the added benefits.

Quick question why didn’t you mount the dsp where the bass amp is and bass amp where dsp is to make adjustment of all the amps that much easier since the dsp can be adjusted via Bluetooth ?
@CarAudioFabrication6 жыл бұрын
The amps are heavier, rather have them back on the main board. I honestly won't need to tune anything other than the gain on the amps, all crossovers and everything will be done in the DSP, I can set everything else the way I need it before I even power them up.
