Wow. When I clicked the thumbnail, it just looked like 2 black desks with LED lighting. That paint job is amazing!

So I know this video is old but how did you do the RGB part? Is it just plexy glass with an RGB rope?
@Mawnee2 жыл бұрын
It's plexiglass resting in the area that I routered out. I put led strip lights up under the lip. I used opaque plexiglass so the light could be seen, but not all the wires. That was the main purpose of that area. It made cable management a breeze.

i realize this is almost 2 years old, but do you have plans available for these? or what plans did you use if any? i want to do something similar where my primary sitting position is in the corner of the desk like that.

Would it be possible to get the plans for these that shape and size is almost exactly what im looking for.

I really only made plans for the top itself since that dictated our seating positions and how they would fit in the room. That's what is pictured in the video at 11:35. For the bottoms I kinda winged it. I made the first bottom and then just took measurements directly off of it to make the second desk. The design is pretty basic though. I made 3 sets of identical square "legs", they were 29"x29" if I remember correctly. Then used the necessary lengths for the crossbeams to get them spaced right. One tip I'll give you though, make the base slightly narrower than the desktop. Having the base of the desk almost flush with the top all around caused me some issues. Allowing for an inch of overhang all the way around would have saved me some headaches with the epoxy and finishing stage of the project. Good luck with your build! :)

how long did it take to dry lol looks great tho.
@Mawnee3 жыл бұрын
The epoxy I used(Stonecoatcountertops craft epoxy) dries to the touch after about 12 hours and is pretty firm at 24 hours. That's when I do the clear seal coat and give it another 24 hours before moving it around. It doesn't reach "full" hardness for about a week, so I avoid setting heavy things on it until its good and cured. Once its fully cured its hard and smooth like glass.
