Good stuff Kip. Nice to see see you use proper crimpers. Cheers

Good progress. You could use square ABS bar to raise the panel above the base. Fortunately, it seems you already have the Pi, rare as hen's teeth at the moment (RS, who used to manufacture them, is now providing the Okdo Rock series).

Nice work. I’m a huge arcade fan too, never managed to buy one though! Nice wiring, anyone would think you are in a WhatsApp group with electricians!

25:13 BaoLian is not the issue. They make various arcade parts. It is your selection of cheap hardware DIY female spade connectors and mismatch of company design. Zero delay boards come with wire leads with Jst Xh 2.5-2 Pin plugs and spring lock female spades on the other end. I bought spare Jst wire leads without spade ends and purchase brass female spade connectors. Ditto for the variable stiction of the connector. You must crimp the connector middle closed with a tighter resistance using small needle nose or side-cutters. Goofs require a flat screwdriver to re-open gap. NA/EU spade connectors are automotive or industrial with divots for grip, while Asian arcade spade connectors are either wire hole to solder or locking spring plug. I don't like BaoLian switches for button feel; Sanwa 30mm 40-50g, no-name 24mm 50-60g, BaoLian 24mm 70-80g. Your original Suzo-Happ knock-offs come with either 100g, 200g, or 400g micro switchs. The compact buttons use a keyboard style switch. Cherry makes numerous keyboard switches with different gram force activation with click or non-click (smooth) feel.

Personally, I would have bought threaded rods and raised the plate from the case. Doesn't have to be waterproof. Then at least I could have kept the buttons. Now you're always pressing keys you don't like.

It’s only being used for testing at this stage, so the buttons won’t be used on the finished machine! 👍🏼
