After 20 years of having my original Street Fighter 2 Champion Edtion pcb laying around (I did have a Supergun at one point but didn't have the best cables and picture was not the best, so i sold that). I am pretty handy with the Retropi and RetroArch stuff, however I've decided to build an Arcade machine and found your rather entertaining video playlist. I've done a bit of research also, but your videos have help alot. I've only viewed upto this video. I hope it all went well for you. I also (at some point) am going for that same cabinet, like you i'll be getting it all in parts hehe. Anyway back to this video.

Excellent video buddy. Following your arcade build videos with a big smile for you as I remember the joy I had building mine and the excitement of every little stage getting done and getting closer each time to finally playing it. 😎👍

Now that you have a working backbone, I think it’s an exceptionally good idea that you broke that down and carried it up in smaller bits😂

Will we be seeing the finished arcade machine Kip? Ive just bought one of the bitcade flat packs off the back of your video and just wanted to see how the monitor fits in the cabinet.
@kiphakes10 ай бұрын
Soon! It’s very difficult to film INSIDE an arcade machine! But I’ve got everything together now, so hopefully will be working on it shortly!
@AndrewKarlsson-v7n10 ай бұрын
Did you go with that HP monitor? How did it fit? I'm trying to gauge how much space I have for a monitor. Thanks for your video by the way. Really helped me decide
@kiphakes10 ай бұрын
@@AndrewKarlsson-v7n I actually have a 4:3 Dell monitor now.. the space was too tight for the one I saw on EBay. I think it does fit a 24” screen but only if the bezel is tiny
@AndrewKarlsson-v7n10 ай бұрын
Oh ok thanks. I know the dell you're talking about. If the one in your video fit then I could have gotten the 4:3 26 inch one from Unico. Thanks for that

I been missing these build videos, and wondering when you would do more of them, as been quite a while since the last arcade build video, is the t-moulding more durable than say the edging that has glue that you run the iron over? when I mean more durable I mean for things like moving the cabinet, or for resting sweaty hands on etc. as that strip edging is nearly as bad as not having any edging.
@kiphakes Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s pretty durable.. it’s been used in arcade machines for years. It stays in really well and protects the edge beautifully.
@michaelthomas3646 Жыл бұрын
think orange with the black for edging suits the machine, and that is without orange being a particular like of mine,. black would be too much black, blue is ok if you get the right shade of blue but harder to get the right shade of blue. yellow is more a Del Boy special paint glow in the dark yellow!! grass green would be another colour I would have picked, but very hard to get anything that isn't glow in the dark type of green. red might have been another colour I would pick depending on the game for the arcade/fruit machine.

Thanks for this, was really helpful, though sadly Bitcade no longer sell their flatpack kits, I would definitely have bought one having seen this 😭
@kiphakes Жыл бұрын
Oh that’s very frustrating! I know that you can get them here - www.arcadeworlduk.com/categories/arcade-flat-pack-kits/all-flat-pack-kits.html BUT the delivery charge is like £70 - so bare it in mind!

Ah amazing, thanks for sharing this, just taking a look, it's really similar, though not sure how I feel about the control panel section sitting above the sides. It's a shame they don't provide a finished photo of it anywhere, be great to see how it looks with the T-Moulding
