@@genesisISjustgeneis if hector didn't answer paul would of called another person and got the job done either way.. but like I said it turned into a great relationship so Paul is obviously glad too.. hector makes out better in this arrangement not paul.. if you have money you can get anyone to do work for you but luckily hector answered and took the job creating much much more work for him and a friend who has connections while Paul gets a great worker and friend so no its not more like Paul is glad.. im sure Paul Is extremely happy with hector but you can pull up to a homedepot and get the work done for a fraction of the cost if you are that type of person.. im rambling now but the way your comment is worded bothered me because hector is the one who got really lucky if you know anything about owning a business and because he's so awesome it turned into a great friendship from what we see on camera

I’ve been obsessed with frogs since I was a kid, I’ve studied frogs and read many books on them, I can confirm Cornelius is a Female !! The way you tell is by there ears ( tympanum ) female frogs have small ears and males have larger ones, love ya Paul !! 🐸

Agree - the tympanic membrane is about the size of the eyes = female. In a male the membranes would be a lot larger. A LOT.

​@fathercrim reptiles and amphibians are different then people. They can eat once or twice a week and be happy and healthy. Bullfrog are known to eat like bottomless pits. He will eat every day but it's not healthy. Especially if he is feeding rats instead of mice. Rats are fattier then mice and should not be provided often.

Definitely use the rectangle black tub you had in there is what I was thinking. You can cut a rectangle hole and hang the tub like a sink or just place it in there like you had it. Use a hole saw to pop a hole through the bottom of the tub and subflooring. Then just get a threaded valve with two gaskets and a threaded nut. When releasing the water you can hook a tube up and drain it outside. You can even put an extension of pipe that will be a set length for the water height as an overflow and keep a drip line of fresh water continuously flowing. That will dilute the toxicity of the water and work as a skimmer. You could just run a bunch a piping in a grid pattern under the soil with slots drilled out in specific areas for a self watering system like hydroponics. Only the overflow will feed the plants and you can even run a water return once the plants suck all the contamination from the water. The water could just circulate from pipes into a bin under your plants with a bunch of hydroponic stones for the potted plants.

I was thinking this same idea. But instead of draining it to the outside you could put a filtration system on it so water doesn’t need to be changed as often. Have the return be a little water fall and you could add some goldfish to his little pond as well

A bioactive substrate would help with your waste issue and maybe a misting system for plants and Cornelius that way you have a self sustainable ecosystem also love the vids❤

You should have landscaped his tunnel against a board with a plexiglass window and a dark curtain over the window. Then you can peak on him with the camera when needed and we can watch his tunnel expansions like an ant farm.

Paul you need a full view on the front of the enclosure, delete that front door and add 2 side doors on each side. That way you have a full front view of all the plants an stuff and on one side you can add a makeshift sink with an inline filter in the drainage that way you can drain it and refill it in literally less than a minute ☝️

Here’s my idea for you Paul,Use a tub for the bullfrog and put a drainage system that goes into some pond and then make sure the water is clean filter no chemicals and add a filter to it

Hey Paul, great build. 2 suggestions though. 1) instead of a lock door as small as you did. Sliding panel glass may have been an easier option. may of cost a tad more but would of been easier for cleaning and access. 2) as for water you could set up a little system like Rod has up at Predatory for acclimation.

So for the water make a little Rock mold for a wall, lay a small bit of tarp down(plastic) drill a hole through the bottom and seal it tight around the plastic then add a plug to the hole underneath so it doesn't always run out(it's for water changes) that was the water doesn't destroy the wood and you can change the water easily

Love the video Paul. I have an idea for his water situation. Drain that tub using a hole drilled and a little bit of PVC to a second tub/bucket. Add a small filtration system, won't need much since it's just Cornelius, and then add a pump to send the water back up. You could even make a small waterfall out of some slate rocks up there, too. It'd really take that enclosure to the next level.

if he croaks hes a boy. if he doesn't hes a girl. he also needs a varied diet. feeding him a mouse every day will shorten his life. roaches, grasshoppers and feeder fish are good options. mice should really only be fed a couple times a month.

Put a tub in there, plumb it with a bulkhead or uniseal that connects to a pipe that goes through the bottom wood plate, and a ball valve on the end, then you can open it and drain the water tub from below the enclosure...

Awesome space for Cornelius! Add a tub or pond bucket, the depth of your top soil and mulch. Add a drain plug on the bottom of it. Drill a hole in the bottom of your enclosure to drain the water easily.

For a pond/water bowl do the cement mixing tub pond like you did a couple years ago in your parents back yard but drill the bottom with a bulkhead and pvc pipe thru the bottom of the enclosure with valve for easy drainage with a hose connected to outside

For a water dish/pool, you could get small or medium sized, low sided stock tank with a drain on it. Place it up against the side of the frog enclosure and cut a hole in the mesh for a drain pipe to run out.
