Jason Kenny of LS Power Performance talks to us about his current two VN Commodore and Calais Holdens. Both cars run turbocharged GM LS V8 engine combinations still using many factory parts including simple EFI and boost control, yet are still providing great results. *Fresh NEW Merch 😁👉 25 years of fullBOOST 🤙* shop.fullboost.com.au/collections/fullboost If you’d like to be notified every time we upload a video, subscribe and then click the bell icon 🔔 next to the subscription button.

VN is relatively light compared to later models, and fairly good aerodynamics - low drag. Good platform.

@@STREETMACHINETV Well, you could have had that too if you didn't waste all that time re- engineering it for another driveline! Didn't Jason say his other car (quicker) has a stinking alloy block and all? Geez, Sloppy Mechanics was building 1000rwhp SBE iron block 6L's with pretty minimal effort... Instead, we got a fourth SM project vehicle with a Ford 6 pot! Exciting!!! 😂😋😉

See what you could have had if you stuck with the LS, Scotty! 😉😂 That was a "soft pass" in a heavier car with smaller rear tyres and it still beat your Barra, mate... Chalk that up to "live and learn" I suppose... 👀😋

Whoa, just watched on the 65in TV. Watch how much the Mazda bounces in the other lane. The anti-roll bar has that sorted now.

The biggest mistake they made with that car was ditching the turbo LS deal (I know their 5.3 junk yard motor had issues or they blew it up- I would have just used a cheap LS1 or LS2 from the wreckers until they could piece together another LS) and put the Barra in it. Nothing against Barras, the turbo LS motors suited it better packaging wise and they already had invested in going down that path- why re- engineer it because of a simple blow up... Someone should have shown Scotty the LSX B15 and how cheap they are in the States if you look in the right places. He would have got a 2 year, 50K warranty for the thing running @15psi!!! (That's good for mid to high 900's with a blower or around 1050 - 1100hp with a 🐌) Even if you race it! Most warranties don't cover you as soon as your doing anything other than street driving, not the B15! Chevy believes in their product and they have been used in a bunch of U.S builds. Never took off here cause the Aussie retailers are too greedy and ask drug money for the long motor over here. Last time I checked (couple of years ears back now), they were $7500 in the States. At the same time it was almost $20000 here, or over depending on the retailer...
@danielbrealey29242 жыл бұрын
Last time I priced one out of the States would have been around 2018- they were $7500 through Chevy themselves or Summit Racing. That same B15 here in 2018 was around $18500!!! I know there's exchange rates and shipping, but you could still save A LOT by buying from Summit or JEGS or someone like them...
@MafiaboysWorld2 жыл бұрын
@@danielbrealey2924 You're not wrong with Summit Daniel. 👍 The savings from them (including shipping!) compared to going local here allowed me to get a whole set of King XP Bearings ON TOP of the ARP studs I ordered for the 1JZ with the money saved. 😎
