I think the biggest ‘paradigm shift’ that’s happened over the last 3 or 4 years… is that you’ve successfully created something that can help create itself. At first, it was helping you to write. Then to code. And now it’s helping you reason. The moment that it could do some of the work to create itself, it could then help you create itself faster, and faster, and the game officially changed. I’d like to know the ‘effective work’ you’re able to do in 2020 figures. Like, back in the year 2020, how many people would have to be in your team have to be to accomplish the work you do rn.

I think the idea of writing unit tests as a form of specification for the code, instead of writing the code itself is a really smart idea! It is similar to a development in math where one defines the properties of an object ("universal properties") instead of explicitly construction the object.

My impressions with a metaphor: ChatGPT: It’s like a gigantic archive with an infinite number of compartments and a reception desk where one person stands. When a request is made, this person goes to the appropriate compartment, takes out the content, and presents it to the requester. Chat GPTo1: It’s also like a gigantic archive with an infinite number of compartments, but in this case, the person at the reception has several assistants. However, I have encountered an issue that is impacting my note-taking workflow. When clicking the copy button in the app, the content is not copied in its original Markdown format. This causes inconvenience, as it behaves the same as manually selecting and copying the text with the mouse, which also doesn’t preserve the Markdown formatting. I would like to suggest the following improvements: 1. Restore the copy button functionality: Ensure that when the copy button is clicked, it copies the content in its original Markdown format so that users can paste it into other applications while preserving the formatting. 2. Add a settings option: Provide an option in the app settings that allows users to choose whether the copy button should copy content with or without Markdown formatting. This feature is extremely important to me, and I hope you will consider my request. Thank you for your hard work and continuous improvements! Best regards, James Kaylon Chan 2024.10.17

Why can't o1-preview or o1-mini solve this puzzle? There is a pillar with four hand holes precisely aligned at North, South, East, and West positions. The holes are optically shielded, no light comes in or out so you cannot see inside. But, you can reach inside at most two holes at once, and feel a switch inside. But as soon as you remnove your hands if all four switches are not either all up or all down, the pillar spins at ultra high velocity ending in a random axis aligned orientation. You cannot track the motion so you don't know in which rotation the holes end up versus their position before the spin. Inside each hole is a switch, the switch is either up or down and starts in an unknown state, either up or down. When you reach into at most two holes, yOu can feel the current switch position and change it to either up or down before removing your hands. Come up with a procedure, a sequence of reaching into one or two holes with optional switch manipulation, that is guaranteed to get all the switches either all up or all down in the minimum possible number of steps. Note, the pillar is controlled by a hyperintelligence that can predict which holes you will reach into. Therefore, the procedure cannot rely on random chance as the hyper-intelligence will outwit attempts to rely on chance. It must be a sequence of steps that is deterministically guaranteed to orient the switches all up or all down in the minimum possible number of steps. Courtesy of Machine Learning Street Talk. Because the puzzle can't be solved if the "hyperintelligence" can always predict what you're going to do before you do it and perfprm a countermeasure in advance. It's like saying why can't an unsolvable puzzle be solved?

@@eternalextrapolations one smart human solved it in 15 mins (it took me much longer, but it's not that difficult to solve).

@@BrianMosleyUK There is no solution to a problem which is defined by the characteristic of being unsolvable.

It says as soon as you remove your hands. Emphasis on the s. So at minimum having one hand inside one of the holes at all times ensures the pillar will not rotate. All one has to do then is abuse that to reach the final answer.

Voice mode is too expensive to use broadly probably. Delay might be to wait until it is efficient enough?
