So was the house built in July a temporary house? I love your motorbike gravel transport system - reminds me of the loads I carried on my Honda 90 in Mexico. This house is definitely permanent, but isn't it too close to the river? What about unexpected riverbank erosion? I'm sure your family has taken everything into account, and we pray for you every day.

The house they built for us is a bush house, meaning all manner of bugs, spiders, snakes, etc have full access. The first house we started building was on the mission ground. We ran into issues since our house will not belong to the mission and we don't want to have a situation where they ask us to move out. So now we are building on land that belongs to us personally. The water is actually a lake, created when the Sepik changed its course. So there is very little current. The water still goes up and down since it is still connected to the main river. But because it doesn't have nearly as much current as the main river, the banks don't erode nearly as much. We will also be strengthening the bank with trees.
