One of the reasons I love your channel is that you are very inclusive of your kids in the build, you are teaching them some real life values, more than they'd ever learn at school. When they're grown up & ready to leave house, they will have the skills & knowledge to survive

You should build a roof over the steps going up to the living area. This will keep the snow off the steps and keep the snow from falling on them and you from the roof above. .

YOU all have LOT"S of experience NOW. I remember in the beginning when you were totally "green" on building anything. I remember when you said I am learning online and "I HAVE THESE BOOKS" which you held up. That cracked me up and that memory is still with me today LOLOL. But YOU know what??? YOU are not GREEN anymore you are a CRAFTSMAN for sure...I mean Look at what you have ALL accomplished here. I remember the tent's you all roughed it through to live in during a cold winter for sure. Totally amazing and God IS Blessing you all...don't forget his own son at one time was a carpenter with his earthly dad Joseph.

Just a suggestion, It seems like it would be a good idea to put an access door (insulated of course) next to the furnace so that it can be serviced or replaced if needed; without having to remove and refinish sheetrock later down the road.

The snow on the roof that falls on the deck stairs could pose a danger on somebody going upstairs if accumulated snow suddenly falls in one go. A person can be injured if he’s high up the stairs and snow falls on him/her. Better put some temporary railings on the stairs.

Keep Smiling 🙂 Congratulations on finishing the insulation. On to drywall. Couple tips.. If you are looking for drywall tips . Vancouver Carpenter is excellent Vlog. Also staggering your drywall like you do your plywood sheathing. And leave a 1/2 “ small gap between the floor and bottom of drywall panel is best practice to prevent moisture wicking. Less is more when mudding. How is that for unsolicited advice. Our church has a cultural practice of ARP “advice requires permission” but you usually ask for ideas anyway. Blessings stay warm!

Great to see you take a little time for play. You have so much to do with building, filming and editing. I'm 72 and very active, (friends say neurotically so) but I don't do exercise so this pushup challenge will be tough. I watched the two days at once so three for the first day. During the winter I see you run the generator to 99 + 15 min, but how much are you actually using? I see lights, laptops, cameras, power tools, etc. How much capacity do you have, and have you run out before? Thanks, guys! You are all so inspiring to me and my family.
