🍄Have you ever dreamt of cultivating your own mushrooms at home? We did too! We have always be longing to grow mushroom, either indoor or outdoor. In this episode, we converted a existing small raised planter to a outdoor, low-maintenance, vertical, automatic mushroom farm in our Backyard in Northern California! It documented the whole building and cultivating process, from design thinking, essential components integration (planter, roofi enclosure, automatic misting system, shelf), to prepping growing substrate, mushroom inoculation, growing status, and harvesting. We cultivated blue oyster mushroom and shiitake this year, well wish us good luck!

Beautiful! Just a small tip, since logs are much smaller now, I would recommend to cover the cut area of the logs with wax, to reduce the probability of contamination by other fungi.

Today it's like you're doing an experiment. I have also raised mushrooms a few times by buying mushroom embryos at the production facility and taking care of them, very simple. I don't think it needs this much sophistication, but perhaps depending on the type of mushroom, there will be different ways to care for it, right? You can consider a indoor grow kit. They will probably grows well under a more controlled indoor environment~
