Building, Painting & Weathering - Sd.Kfz.166 Brummbar Pt.1 - Full Video Build

This is a #full #video #build of Tristar’s Brummbar Sturmpanzer Sd.Kfz.166. The kit is now sold under HobbyBoss/Trumpeter brand, with the same moldings and photo-etch included inside. The competitive Brummbar /early/ is from Dragon. DML also offer Brummbar Late version, which Tamiya just recently introduced. However the early version seen in the video is visually different and offer interesting and appealing camouflage schemes.
The build started in 2016, and was halted up to the point of the first episode of the video. After two years, next steps were taken and completion of the Brummbar can be seen in episode 2. The initial plan on how to paint and weather the vehicle was kept and only some minor weathering changes were applied.

This was the older Tristar kit which I'm sure you knew. Hobby boss acquired the molds after they went bankrupt. The Tristar kits were quite good for their time and many of them are still very good by today's standards.

very nice video there mitko and such a cool vehicle too :) i really liked the tristar kits, this one is only weird due to the funky superstructure being split into many sections. that seems very much unnecessary!

The side skirts in the original Tristar kit are very thin die cut vinyl. I haven't built mine yet.

Seems the Tristar kit is better since the schürzen are made of ultra thin plastic, all the supports are plastic and a lot of the new pe parts are plastic too, guess I got lucky getting the older kit!

I do not. Just shortage of Tamiya glue last 3 years. I save it for the planes.
