Is there a vent? I don't see one installed. But I did notice something on the tail end of SUP. Is that the vent? Just wondering how it breathes. Thanks. Beautiful board by the way. Well done.

Hey Carl, I'm building a SUP out of 3mm ply, you might find it interesting mate! kzbin.info/www/bejne/noG6mmSdm9aNgas

You need just this three things: Cnc (must), big ass workshop, 20 people.

do you have to use the fiberglass sheet ?

Built from scratch... Also with a CNC, full workshop, and professional staff. But built from scratch.

For those that don't know, David Trubridge is known mainly for his wooden light shades. His son is also one of the most accomplished freedivers in the world and still holds the record for deepest dive without fins (over 100 metres btw).

Right "Homemade"

In this situation I wouldn't say that a CNC has helped them in any way, they could have just as easily printed out templates for the frames and cut and trimmed them by hand, but what is the point if you have access to a CNC? It has only saved them time, and hasn't reduced the skill needed in my opinion.

Kits? Plans? Any more video updates. How does it track in the water, calm vs. waves, turns. I truly believe that your SUP design and build is the most graceful, well thought out, I have seen so far. Congratulations, oh and I subscribed!

Hi Adam, Sorry for the slow reply. Thanks for your kind words. It tracks really well. I can paddle for ages just on one side with a slight J stroke. But turning is of course slower unless you step right back and lift that fine bow out of the water. It cuts through waves beautifully, but the higher bow is not so good in a cross wind -- I would make it a little lower next time. In an open sea a little more rocker might be good. We are not actively marketing kits but can supply them if you are interested. As you can see you need to be a reasonably proficient maker. I am currently working on a design with a lower, cut-away deck. David

Right. As soon as I saw the CNC machine it no longer became home made.

It's good to see the Stodoys has new Instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
