Great build, paint, everything excellent. I wanted especially to praise your arrangement of the figures within the bus. They really look like they are acting naturally, some conversing with each other, etc. exactly as real people would do. Lots of modelers build and paint excellent figures but forget to plan how they will look at each other, interact, etc. Well done!

Thank you! Really appreciate the compliment! And yes, I've seen those dio's too where there's lots of figures, but no interaction. It's a little thing but really helps set the scene. Cheers, and thanks again!

Excellent build Pete, I think the figures really put that bus on the next level. Thanks for the warning about the Roden decals, I only have one kit by them in the stash and it has a huge RAF roundel decal for the top of the Rolls Royce armoured car, I may have to be prepared to spray it on instead.

Thanks Martin. Really appreciate that. This was my first Roden kit, and really happy with the way it all (mostly) went together okay. Really nice detail on the instrument decals, but when they just cracked up without being touched, that was one of those, "Bugger' moments. Hopefully this one just a one off. Cheers mate!
@martinoconnor43144 күн бұрын
@@PetesKits 🤣 don't you just hate that Bugger moment, it usually only ever happens when everything is going fantastically great!
@PetesKits4 күн бұрын
@@martinoconnor4314 Tell me about it. Had one the other day while building an Italeri Panzer I. It's got tiny individual track links (82 a side), separate lifting hooks, and all sorts of tiny bits to lose. So what does the Carpet Monster eat? A largish towing assembly from the rear....could I find it? Nope. Not even after moving everything twice, and crawling around on my aching knees. Had to scratch build one. Now that was a 'Bugger!" moment! 🙄

Hi Pete. Very nice result. Cool diorama. Funny how so many kit makers give you a lovely engine but make it difficult to display. Acetate is a pain! Reminds me of the crappy old private service buses in Adelaide when I was a kid in the late 60's! Wooden benches and rear seats facing each other. Saw Microscale liquid decal film being hand brushed over some dodgy decals on another channel. Self levelling and seemed to do the trick. Hard to get as it's surface shipping only but I've got some old decals I'd like to try it on. Thanks for the vid and build. Cheers Matt
@PetesKits4 күн бұрын
Thanks Matt! Yeah, would have been nice if showing the engine was an easy option. Must have a look at that Microscale vid. heaven knows I have some old kits that I just know the decals will go sideways on! Cheers mate!
@@MatterusOD Thanks Matt. I see what you mean. Pretty sure my brother has some of that stuff lying around. Might just "borrow it" and give it a try. Love the detail that he put into that P-47. Cheers mate!

I got the same figures I think, it was about 12 and I put them in one of those german half track artillery pullers. They were perfect the Roden kit in the end just had too many MacGyver requirements
@PetesKits2 күн бұрын
"MacGyver requirements". Perfect description. Might use that in the future! This one went together well, and looks good, but the push out points on every single part was the thing that got me about this kit. Even the tiny bits had at least one! At least I'll know what to look out for if i ever get another Roden. Cheers!
@davidshepherd3972 күн бұрын
@@PetesKits I had considered that kit as I sort have an Afrika Korps convoy theme going, but I have changted my mind, now that someone has agreed with my thinking. Thanks

@@davidshepherd397 Think if I ever got another one (cheap) I'd scrap the seats, and kit it out as a workshop with Miniart, or maybe resin, parts, covering up all the push out points with tools and stuff, and set it up as a mini-dio with open doors so I didn't have to worry about them not fitting. That's if I get another one! Cheers mate!

Hey Pete. Quick question. I've never done a Roden kit, so I was wondering if the molds are from Italeri?
@PetesKits4 күн бұрын
Hi mate. Roden is a Ukrainian company, that not only makes their own plastic kits but also machines and makes the actual moulds for them. As far as I know, they also make, and sell, moulds to other companies as well, so it's possible that Italeri uses Roden's moulds for some of their kits. Hope this helps! Cheers!

I built the Roden Greyhound "silversides". Apart from a few fitting issues, I wwanted to put figures inside and the 1 35 sacle passengers were just too big. I tried 1 48 but they all looked like kids. I was very disappoited. Same issue with the engine, I would have had to glue the hatches open and that looks wrong with a bunch of passengers. I'm pretty sure the actual scale was more like 1 40. Roden you misled me. I did however enjoy the build and the fiddle.
@PetesKits3 күн бұрын
One of the reasons I re-arranged the seating in this one. The Dragon figures were just too big to fit into the Roden seating arrangement. I wouldn't be surprised if the scale was slightly out in some dimensions! Cheers!
@lukasz_p_12 сағат бұрын
These seats are designed for people with negative legs size. Looks like horizontal part of the seat is too big. Roden is not the most accurate company under Sun of this planet.
@PetesKits11 сағат бұрын
Yep, think you're right. Had a look at the unused seats in my spares box, and the "seat" part does look too long. Don't know why I didn't spot that myself. And yeah, I have heard a few comments about Roden's accuracy. Still overall she turned out okay, and I'm happy with that. Cheers!
