Mate - nice build. I was totally distracted by the gun classified ads in the background.WTF! 😳 The S&W M&P15-22 w.scope looks prety cool 😁 But, back to the P-40, turned out nice. The only issue with these Airfix kits is you see absolutely nothing of the cockpit once the canopy goes on.😫 Look forward to more builds. Cheers!!👍

It is a shock for some to see sale ads for guns in our newspapers. That’s the US. Guns everywhere. Crazy! It’s a fun kit. I will sometimes not glue the canopy just so I can take it off and look in once in a while. Thanks for watching and the nice comments! Take care..Drew 🍻

Nice, relaxing music... perfect! (See, I focus on the essentials, me!!) Great to see this kit going together well, needless to say I have a couple of these as well, in various guises. Watching and learning, taking note of any pitfalls, so I know what to expect. What I like about this hobby is that we all have our own approach to how to build and paint, but we still share the passion and occasionally learn from each other... that is a couple of reasons, of many, why this hobby is so great.. in my opinion! That War Hawk ended up sublime... as I expected! Love that RAF camo... :)

Nicely done, Drew! I didn't know that Model Masters was shut down! That is so unfortunate. But, the P-40 came out beautifully. Such a nice looking little kit.

Thank Ben! It’s a fun little kit. I kept hearing rumors about Model Master, so I emailed Rustoleum to see if they would respond. They confirmed that all Model Master products are discontinued and they will focus on Testors.

An interesting item: I got the corgi die-cast version. The tampo printing did the red on the victory markings way off center. I took the decal out of this kit, and it fit perfectly in the die-cast one.! Sure did solve my problem. BTW, a nice build.!

@@Drewsmodels I think I paid like $49 for the die-cast one. Having built over 500 models in my life, I like the die-cast now. Look how long it took to get this nice one from airfix. I got the whole US century series of planes in die-cast. I have a couple of kit projects, but to match the die-cast quality is hard work. By the time you buy paint, decals, etc., a kit can get expensive. I picked up a Hobbymaster f-106, Montana ang for $39, broke the pitot, replaced it with a brass one. Can't buy the Ming one for that price. Have numerous other comparison stories. I fix the little omission and errors on the die-cast. Had to build a me262, Shangri-la p-51b, and p-47d Dove of peace to get those in my collection. Me262 even has a full stencil set. I have to admit, chasing down the details on a model kit, can make for a stunning display model. Happy building!
