@julienbergeron5263 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike! I have a question and a suggestion for you. Q. Wouldn’t one hydraulic hinge be enough to keep the cabinet’s door well shut but also open? S. For your light inside the cabinet. How about making so that when you lift the door, instantly the light goes on? I guess it would be by having a kind of magnetic switch attached to the door. Since the lights are LEDs and low cost in electricity, even if it’s day and the light turns “on” it’s not that big of a deal. I feel like it would be a nice, cheap, easy and practical solution. Big fan of yours!
@navigationnowhere
@navigationnowhere 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I put two hydraulic hinges because when I only had one the board was tending to bend and warp from the pressure of the hinge so to stabilize it I added a second. I think if I got hinges that were not as strong it would not cause this issue. I will be updating in a future video when the new hinges come in. Thanks for the idea of the magnetic switch. I plan on adding something like that. I would hope it would activate when the door is opened. Thanks, Michael

@@navigationnowhere tiny house 3 on the way 🤔 no seriosly the main benefit is hight, and we dont have small schoolbuses over in europe, and a normal truck like a man 8.180 is cheaper and easier to customize for a beginner (isolation, etc)

Put a pressure switch on it so when it opens light turns on and closes light goes off.

The rubber on my stairs were screwed in and wrapped around the metal. They can put really easy in my bus. 🤷‍♂️

I always go with an air chisel if you have one. If not, I use a grinder and drill

I’ve become a pro with an angle grinder at this point, with all my rivets, I grinded down the head at a slight angle from the face of the rivet until melted metal was the only thing holding the metal in the I was able to use a crowbar to knock out the metal siding. This only works if you’re not keeping the siding

This little stove is called a "tiny wood stove' the model in the video is the 5k model. I will be using the 3k in the final install.

Hi Mike, I'm curious. I'm rebuilding an RV this spring, and I don't want to buy cabinets. What thickness of wood did you use for yours?
@navigationnowhere
@navigationnowhere 3 жыл бұрын
These are 1/2 birch. Typically residental cabinets are built out of 3/4.

Since hot air rises, why do tiny home and skoolie builders always put the tiny wood stoves so high???? Don't the floors stay cold????
@bonniecavanaughsvcontent3565
@bonniecavanaughsvcontent3565 3 жыл бұрын
My feelings exactly... hot air rises, if the wood stove is on the floor or close to it, will heat the bus more completely... Instead of the floor air being colder...
@navigationnowhere
@navigationnowhere 3 жыл бұрын
Main reason I placed the stove in its location is because it is being installed for secondary use not my main source of heat. I will be installing a diesel heater under a couch. Also, hot air does rise and I would totally agree in a residential application but these stoves will cook you out of your bus and I guarantee I will be too hot haha. I have been in many buses with these stoves, they do not burn forever but when they do they warm you up.
