Lové the lighting - very necessary. Great track work and design. The inclines will really look good. I can’t wait to see the roundhouse and that beautiful station. I can’t believe the amount of work in such a short time. Keep it going.

Hi Jenny. As a newcomer to your channel, and looking for inspiration before I embark kn my own model railway journey, I subscribed to your channel because of your expertise and endeavour to inform those less talented as yourself. Another reason for getting in touch with you was the issue you seem to be having with your rails turning green once you applied your ballast and PVA glue. Again, because of my own inexperience I have been looking at other KZbin channels and came across Richard at Everard Junction who published an earlier video, maybe a couple of years back, asking the Model Railway Community if anyone else had come across the issue where the rails were turning green, similar to yourself. It turned out that the PVA glue he had been using was an own brand PVA glue which had some kind of additive that caused this. It might be worth while for you to contact Richard, rather than going through his many videos, and ask him for advice. I also was looking online and found this article in www.modelrailforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27451 .As memory serves me, I think he reverted back to the PVA glue that had been used previously. Anyway, best wishes, keep up the good work and my apologies for being so cliched. Mike

I used Shaper Sheet on my Thomas layout. I found it easier to staple the edges in place, then hide the staples with plaster. It hardens however thin the plaster is.

Hi Jenny. Please remember my use of the jay-cloths with pva glue used like papermache. three ply are like Armour which stretches tight and flat as it dries. Costs are minimal Say's Al FH12

I do think an incline on a layout looks good with a flyover. But I appreciate they can some times be a challenge to build. I think There are a number of flyovers on the main line from London to Brighton, south of Croydon.

Jenny nice video thanks. You seem to be all over the place on projects. I say choose a place with a project and do as much as u are able. That way Ure not jumping about and never really getting anything accomplished As for painting the rails just do in managable sections.. don't really matter if you have ballasted sections of track or not.. when u get to an area that's preballasted, just take your time, there's really no rush. Thanks for sharing your new layout world with us. Eagerly awaiting next installment. Yes I think I will be at your live broadcast. Weather permitting of course. Keep em on the rails.

It's funny when we light railways up we go for over head, it's out of the way and lights things up but if we were photographing a model to look pleasing (even a human model) we would choose side lighting to give form, lit up like this stuff looks so much better BUT positioning the lights so as not to encroach or blind is unfortunately very difficult could be used to imply different times of day (early morning etc ) in the odd segment for video maybe. I've tried it and it is great but not practical. A fan and a shower hose could create a typical British summers day lol. Do you drum?.

Just a thought Jenny; when you reposition those Low Energy / clamp lights, can you use eg some 330 or 500ml plastic water bottles, cut say 50% longitudinally to make some shades, Cut an 'ole in the bottom and use the bulb to hold them in place...

Hi Jennifer, I don't know if it will help or not but in the days when I built dioramas and layouts (about forty years ago now), I used bog standard builder's PVA glue from the builder's merchant. If I remember I bought litre pots and diluted it as required. Cheaper than the posh stuff! I love what you're doing in the loft and I look forward to each video. Best regards.

Jenni when I saw lights in your title I was more interested than most, thinking you had been fitting led lights in rolling stock. I’ve been watching various how to when fitting and converting coaches especially into lit carriages. Just wondering if you’ve ever done this or have plans to light your rolling stock. If you covered this subject, please advise the title of the video and roughly when you did it? Many thanks in advance. Frank.

Like another poster, I used ordinary PVA from Homebase, but as they have now gone, I'll have to use B+Q when I finally run out! Hadn't seen that flock covered bacofoil, I'll have to give it a go, as I need a scenery break to conceal the 180' bend at the end!

Great progress. Those Woodland Scenics products are great. We used the risers on my two previous layouts. Is there something acidic in your ballast rather than the glue? As others have suggested, big standard PVA will be effective and cost effective.

Also, with all those piers, you will be able to test locomotives for their ability to climb gradients.
