Happy Birthday, Jenny. You are doing quality work in such a short amount of time. It will certainly be worth the effort and I can’t wait for it to be completed . Make sure that you include that beautiful station.

Great work young lady! Yes I said young because you are 27 years younger than me. I admire your determination in working on your projects and just wish I had as much as you! Happy Birthday and don't get discouraged by the comments! Cheers from Mississippi in the USA!

Hello. I'm new to your channel but enjoying very much. I did see Chadwick Model Railway give a video on a handy tool that was basically a small paint pot with a brush wheel on a bent arm. Super fast results 🙂

All looking good Jenny and at 19:00 you are starting to look like the mistress of your own kingdom :-) Wiring up points & track is a PITA IMHO. Have to approach it in the right state of mind. For track I progressed to the Peco pre-soldered (to fishplate) droppers; using N-gauge for finescale track. I also migrated to Fleischmann Profi (pre-ballasted) track for my 'German extension' as it has superb running capabilities and when ballasted/scenery inserted alongside, it blends in well. Hovermotion (on YT) has used this to great effect, and at the end of the day, the running qualities far exceed the slight loss in aesthetics...Cheers

Looking good in the loft, Jenny. I don't know how you have the energy, there again the years aren't on my side. For painting track, cheap burnt umber acrylic from The Works applied with a sponge. Not worried if it gets on the sleepers as they are often similar colour.

Great to catch up on progress in the loft Jenny ... loads of ideas and excellent advice from your channel , everything you do keeps makes me continue with my layout over here in France ... Just out of interest , have you heard of Wago connectors ? .. Much more compact than trad choc box .. looking forward to the next episode 👍

Congratulations Jenni on your dual celebrations for birthday and wedding anniversary. Your making slow but steady progress in the loft. Personally I think that’s where all the fun is, putting track down and moving it again and again cos it don’t suit your thoughts. Not many modellers work to a plan I wouldn’t of thought. Incidentally what wagon do you drive and who for? Iam an ex HGV trucker.

I always used point switches on my layouts but have gone for the PECO stud and probe system for the layout that I am building now. I've found it much, much easier to install and easier to operate as it is intuitive.... As for rail and sleeper colour, try cheap artists acrylic "Burnt-Umber" , it gives a nice dark brown at a fraction of the cost of model railway paints.

I agree, rail sides are a pain - I tried the brown (very dark) emulsion and it seemed to work but it was a lot of effort. the pens (or paint roller things for painting track. seem like too much effort - next time I thing I will go spray can (airbrush seems like a lot of faff -- although behind may be a problem there

I found that rust coloured acrylic paint is a good thing to use. Use a fine model brush trim the brush a bit.

I find a quick way to weather the track by using Railmatch sleeper grime spray cans, if you put a few lengths side by side then any over spray catches the next peice Then just run the paint off the rail heads before it drys.. it looks the dogs doodlies.. Also I would suggest you set up a few small lengths of track on a board n try out weathering rather than working on your layout. Also have you tried paint pens...?

Happy birth-versary. I've tried all sorts for track weathering, but usually end up acrylic rusty painting it, with a tiny brush - takes ages and ages - - and ages and - - -

What CDU are you using for the point motors, I use the one by Peco, but they still fail to move the point blades too often.

I too had the same problem so choose Gaugemaster which are fine. There are others available such as on E-Bay etc with higher power output. Happy Birthday/Anniversary & good luck with the MOT, Jenny!

Remove the remaining plastic around the "new monitor" and have a picture frame fitted in place. If you still have some blue paint for the sky give it another coat.

Loving the rapid progress and I bet you love the length of the trains you can now having running.....they are lovely long rakes...... That sign.....does it read "jenny" "wear yard railways"? Or is an "s" missing to make "Jennys Railways"?

Search the Internet for ‘Rusty Rails Painter’. It’s fast, I t’s easy, and it’s not expensive. I bought one and found it did a very good job. Little or no wasted paint either. (I have no connection with manufacturer or retailers.)
