A notable issue I've encountered with the SmallRig cage designed for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is that the filters do not adequately cover all three cameras or lenses. In order to capture footage using the 0.5x - 12MP ultrawide sensor, it is necessary to detach the filter holder and reposition it in a different opening. Unless I am mistaken, this appears to be a significant design flaw from my perspective. I would prefer a setup where the filter can seamlessly cover all three lenses, similar to the designs offered by Neewer and the Beast Cage.

Until now no manufacturer has managed successfully to connect a microphone and an ssd to the phone at the same time. Maybe a type c splitter might work but haven’t seen anybody using such a thing. The only discrete option is the lexar kickstarter campaign that attaches an insanely small ssd into a tiny media hub that allows accessories such as microphones to be attached at the same time.

@@Carlos-ll7grlike I’ve mentioned in my comment you can try usb type c splitters, small type c hubs that will connect directly to the phone without cables or the lexar kickstarter product. The first two options might be trial and error because you would have to buy third party items that may not work as intended. Lexar is a more respected brand but I don’t know if that tiny ssd will overheat while filming with pro res.

This sounds nice. thank you for your video. However, there is a known problem with the Rode Videomic NTG, when connected to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max phones with a direct USB-C connection. I contacted Rode and they confirmed the issue and indicated that they are working with Apple to fix the, ‘limitation.’ What kind of audio are you getting with it? Or do you have a fix or specific settings which allow you to record without getting peaking and other horrible audio?
