It's easy to compliment Matt on his work and explanation of his reasons and method but here's a shout out for Janneke and the superb job of documenting this project. What a great combo.

I also watch the Sampson Boat Company Tally Ho build and it is fascinating watching the difference between the modern technical build here and the old woodworking skills on Tally Ho. Good morning inspector you are obviously happy with the work judging by your happy state of sleep. 😊

I’m up-to-date!!! I’ve been binging for 2 weeks from episode 1 til now and now I have to wait a week for the next video! What a PROJECT! Your level of craftsmanship and persistence is super! I’m not a sailor, but I’ve dreamed of sailing and building a boat my whole life. I’m 66 now, so, it probably won’t happen, but it’s so good to see a young couple working hard together to make their dream come true. Keep up the good work! I’ll be watching!

Having worked structural repair on military and civilian aircraft for 47 years my last 20 years consisted of bond work. When we laminated multiple layers of fiberglass or carbon fiber, we would "debulk" between several layers to remove any trapped air and remove excess resin. That's something you might try on any future layups. Someone mentioned their concerns about the bond between the chain plate and the hull. Anytime we were attaching two precured parts as important as these chain plates it would be with a structural adhesive to insure a good bond and never a cold bond. Just food for thought.

For the safety of the chain plates so happy Matt’s mother was involved in making sure it’s done correctly. :). Above all the inspector was pretending not to be interested. Seems like Matt made both rest well.

Good shout out to Shane from @youngbarnacles - it's super interesting channel on the technical side of composites. As for the weight diff between your old s/s and carbon chainplates - just crazy!
