My hubby & I have been searching for our forever home on water since last Dec. Most of the time I can see where there is potential, or maybe I can simply spot the ones that need tons of work & 💸, so the others SEEM better, lol! Oh what I would give to have @Sarah Richardson Alex, Tommy & Kris to look at the homes & point out all of the things I don’t imagine! Plus, our style is very "laid back beach" but we aren’t fans of a full out nautical/tiki/etc. themes which many of the homes unfortunately embraced since we’re in the Midwest & on man made reservoirs vs. vast open waterways. Paneling is EVERYWHERE 🤦🏼‍♀️! I love how this rental turned out, I should go back & watch every single island video they have done, take extensive notes & buy some stock in Sherwin Williams or Behr white paint 🤣! Paint some buttermilk on areas of the wall where you want moss to grow. Then get some moss from the property and rub it onto those areas. It will regenerate much faster.

K, I have to wonder about all that paint, trapping moisture, peeling, and needing to be redone. I could be wrong but I suspect there’s a reason all these lakeside cottages have unpainted wood walls, floors, and furnishings.

if you want the moss back quicker, put about 1/2 cup of moss into a blender with 1/2 cup yogurt and 1 cup water. Blend and then paint onto the wall. The moss will grow!

Old blueprints are wonderful, but they will fade to brittle yellow nothingness if you don't UV protect them. Colour photocopies are better.

One bathroom for the entire property with at least 10 people is going to get really....close ! You need at least 1 -really - 2 more bathrooms and an outdoor shower. Good luck with renting - maybe to a family of 4 ---start bringing in money and then next year the : the bathroom(s) and outdoor shower and lots more people to recoup return on investment.

The justification for using blue irritated me to no end. That was a very sexist view on color. "Girls can compromise but boy's can't/won't". If you pick a nautical theme there is no need to use that crappy, old-fashioned and sexist justification.
