Sarah Richardson with the help of Tommy and her husband Alex is renovating a vintage cottage with the aim to rent it out to other people giving them a chance to experience that luxury cottage life without the commitment of buying. With the kitchen/ living room, master bedroom, bunkie room, and bathroom complete attention is turned to the massive shed/poolhouse underneath the house. The aim is to transform this room into a luxury guestroom that is still attached to the main house but has a separate entrance making it more private and secluded.

Yes, you can up the occupancy but you need to provide the potty rooms.

I agree. Either an out-house (now there's some rustic charm) or Would've had to get a toilet that "flushes up " (they exist / something to with suction) That room was below grade for the septic.

Can't magically have a toilet rough and a soil pipe in the right spot. They can put in a composting toilet.

Nice to know I wasn't alone with that thought, because the person in that room has to go outside to use the bathroom. People do get up at night to use the "Can"😅😅😅

The room is beautiful, but it lacks a toilet. People will definately need it at some stage and will then have to go outside to get to the toilet in the house. If it is a cold and rainy night, or even any night, it does not make sense, just like the beautiful bunkie she built at their holiday home on the island.

Well you made me fall in love with yellow again, I grew up with a yellow bedroom that I didn't like. My parents finally painted it a light blue color. But I love the white washed wood and the yellow in this bedroom. This place turned out great!

Sara, I recognize that beautiful yellow textile that you used for a bedcover, as a handwoven piece from the Azore Islands! I saw that technique of weaving used in an old studio that was part of a coffee farm on the Island of San Miguel. Also my friend Nancy Hillenburg has a smaller throw sized sample of that gorgeous type of textile. Good find!

Nice guest bedroom, but it needs an attached bathroom. A good plumber knows how to install a basement type toilet that pump upwards to the sewer line (or septic tank).

I find this very strange, that someone would leave all of those items behind? However this is an Island. So the previous owners are obviously letting the new buyers know this is what you may NEED!!! Big mistake. Who wants to have to go outside and down an outdoors stairs to get to their bedroom without toilet and bathing facilities. If you're renting to boy scouts maybe, but I don't think even boyscouts would rent it a second time.

Whitewashed it spoiled it's whole natural light look. Personally it didn't look lighter to me but more about disturbing what's natural ... That spoiled it for me . Totally . Sad , but I guess it's always about white paint all the time all the places, just digg layers, n thickness . .. just saying it's sad she didn't give the natural look a chance

It's called a realestate investment. It's how people earn money to support their family & build business- they pay/hire contractors and buy supplies to improve quality and location in order to rent to vacationers to relax/enjoy! Win-win-win...
