I finally finished the rear of the car and ended up being able to use the lower coil mounts which was a plus. I also Cerakoted the rear rotors and they came out really clean.

Volkswagens come with a similar coating on the rotors that sounds gnarly when it comes off after the first two times you hit the brakes and they never have issues I think he will be fine letting the pads scrape it off🤷🏻‍♀️

When I used to build bicycles I used to use an old swivel barstool to put my rims on to rotate while painting the rims. Can't wait for the car to get running

Don't worry about how long it's taking you. You are a perfectionist and perfection takes time. Have you considered putting a cheap pad on there just to clean the ceramic off of the braking surface of the rotor and then immediately change to your good pads that you are going to run? Just thinking about clogging the pads with cerakote material 🤷‍♂️

Honestly I don't get the people complaining about how long this build is taking. You didn't restore a car, you created a car that didn't exist before and added the best components from all trim levels of Dodge. During that time you acquired what 5 other cars?? The level of engineering and figuring things out is astounding. Not sure why you don't have more subs, but this is hands down the best build on the internet. Well those Russian guys combing a Bugatti Chiron with a soviet Gaz-21is pretty crazy, but your build is still the best!

Check out PFI Speed. They found a company that will come over to your garage and they laser alignment your vehicle and they had him come out to their garage to line up and the job was done great according to Brent. Check it out maybe you can use his services. What the heck at the most you will waist a phone call. Goofy just rebuilt his Honda after he hit a wall during his race in Florida. He said he was happy with his work they also had a few other cars done. Freedom Civic was done also. What the heck it's worth a call to Brent or Jamie. Good luck and great content. Charger is one step closer to the end of the list. Atleast for this month.

Yeah the reat of the rotor getting the coat is the key. And the rest rubs off. I opted in for zinc gold coat on the last set if rotors for my miata as long as the car drives they stay blinging. I mean... I chose the for longevity to because my miata tends to sit a lit these days

I agree with the other comments about letting the pads remove the coating.there should not be anything on the rotors during the break in period especially. Not worth the chance of ruining the pads.

dont allow your pads to clear the cerakote from the rotor contact surfaces front and rear...It is all wheel drive....jack stands, wheel off, rotors installed without calipers or brackets mounted...put it in drive and allow to idle ....use a scotchbrite pad while the rotors are spinning in place to clear off the cerakote....if you use the pads while on maiden run you may ruin the pads and in turn damage the rotors.....shouldnt take but maybe 5min total...

Considering the amount of work you've put into this Charger, it's very understandable that it has taken two years to build it. Something like this can't be finished in a few weeks! As the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was this project. It's far better to take your time and get it right and not have issues down the line.

I disagree do your own alignment like the hoonigan guys and donut guys do with the mobile alignment guy. It's way safer inside your own shop and is just as accurate as a fancy machine. The mobile alignment guys gear is real easy to set up and works just fine. U already have the lift to put the car on the stands and turn tables.
