Digging this build. I've been waiting quite awhile to see someone do an s-10 build like this. I've had it rolling around in my head for years but haven't had the means to make it happen. So thank you for letting me live vicariously through you... Lol its coming along great so far!

@@Fasterproms1 Love your channel and all if the builds. The s10 build is something I've dreamed of doing since I turned 16 and got a first gen s10 for my first vehicle. I love that you guys are building it. I know this truck is going too be an absolute weapon when its finished.

@@Fasterproms1 I've been wanting to see someone do this exact build since I had my 91 S10 with the garbage Iron Duke 2.5 with the 5 speed. I've seriously had dreams of driving something like this with a supercharged big block like a 572 or something crazy like a Sonny Leonard big block, but a Sonny Leonard wouldn't fit and I doubt a 572 would either...lmao

@Fasterproms: I'd love this little rig to be your "Leroy" When I was a teenager back in the stone age, S10's were still new and out of people's reach for a "budget" build, so stuff like this was often cobbled together using old Luv trucks. Going 100+MPH in a Luv truck with a 454 in it will give you religion!

Yep... plasma cutters rule... and a CNC plasma cutting table for making your own suspension parts rules even better hehehe. Gussets, spring perches, all sorts of stuff. If I had one, I would have measured the hell out of that engine plate, threw it into cad, and had a backup.

Probably the one and only time I will to see torsion bars being removed with a gas hacksaw. Love watching people tear into a project, and sharing the view of what happens in the cylinder head room. Used to have to go into the porting room at Toyota motorsports whilst I was installing an engine dyno there. The head got covered with a rag whilst I was in there, but I got to see the flow bench and the rubber bananas that they use to test fit the profile of the ports. The secret lies in the expertise of the guy doing the work. Anyhow, lucky you bought the truck with the extended cab as those seats are going to get mounted right back in it due to the stuff up front moving back by almost a foot. Going to be fun getting in and out of the truck. Thanks for sharing, I like this!

You should get George a chuck with a flexible cable , a warm white or yellow colored bar light to see well in the shiny aluminium, and a long vacuum hose to install in the ports he works on to suck the chips. It would be way more comfy for him while sat hours and hours in there.

The only S10 to come with a 8.5 was the ZR2, they are wider then a regular S10. I've heard a few second gens with manual trans had a 8.5 but never seen one. C5 corvette or 4th gen Camaro are the most popular brake swaps for S10s.

FRONT DIFF UPGRADE for these, straight bolt in. The 4.3 4x4 manual transmission 2nd gens have an IRON CASE Front Diff. I know for sure i had one in a 99 4.3 5 speed 4x4 2 door blazer. I think they were common in ZR2s as well. AWD S10 build that I never had time for....I was going to use an electronic shifted transfer case from an Astro Van, NV136 i think (may not be tough enough for this kind of power) but the plan was to rig manual linkage/cable to the stub that the shift motor actuates. That style transfer case isn't locked in AWD full time, but doesn't shift like most 4x4 T-Cases, it has a clutchpack like an automatic transmission has, and the linkage basically operates a fork that puts pressure on the clutchpack, much like an old manual transmission uses to operate it's clutch. The idea was to be able to have AWD on demand, you could light the rears up and go sliding around corners/put it sideways, but when you want to put the power down to all 4, pull a lever. A center console mounted E-Brake lever would have been perfect. You could maybe even straighten yourself out of a slide by engaging under power. Would be fun to drive.
