I'm used to larger, corded routers kzbin.infoUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.

Woah, went to the link for the router, and I was expecting a high price, but not that high xD (But it's always worth it for a tool you can trust)
@JCWren
@JCWren 3 жыл бұрын
Yah, sticker shock for sure. But it's not always worth it for a tool you can trust. You have to use it enough to justify it's purpose. I'd be hard pressed to use a router enough to justify it's $1250 cost, plus another couple hundred in the table. And I didn't dig very deeply, but I don't know how many of the accessories that they sent Alexandre are included in that $1250 price.

Great design! I love the way you did the side drawers. The compartment where the router is will need sufficient airflow to evacuate the dust. if it is sealed with no airflow except for he opening where the router bit is, will cause a vacuum and will reduce the airflow. If there is problems evacuating the dust from router compartment, try adding air holes at the bottom of the front door. This will allow airflow and help with the dust.

Without any way to get makeup air into the box below, you won't get much dust collection in there. You don't actually want it completely sealed. The opening at the top will provide some, but not much given the diameter of the hose. The rest of this is super cool. I love the build, and how quickly it went together. Nice tilting router, too.

Alex, long time subscriber/follower/watcher. I just want to say great job my boy. I love how your channel isn't just traditional woodworking and incorporate elements of CNC, Lazer Cutting, Metal work. It's like a modern take on DIY projects. It's great you just create jigs / template you need with the cutter when you don't have it. It's so customized. Honestly, someone needs to pick up this man and bring him into design projects. I would love to see you do some collabs with some of the other DIY/Wood/Metal Workers (unfortunately, you're the only one that I watch that is outside of the U.S.). Keep up the goodwork!

Just a suggestion for your dust extraction, perhaps the hole in the back of the cabinet could have been toward the bottom instead of at the top? That way any heavier dust/chips which would fall to the bottom would have a better chance of getting sucked up?
@JohnPatersonAu

Yes, I saw a similar router table build where there was quite a lot of dust/chips that fell to the bottom and didn't get sucked up.

That's a great setup! I imagine there is over $1,800 in the router, lift, fence, track, etc. but it will be worth it for those of us that can afford it! I have an old New Yankee Workshop table that I built 30 years ago that does fine but no lift, no tilt, no sizzle LOL. Beautiful job on the table!

Hi, Would the router table really be better to do those big chamfers on with that kind of setup? On a tall piece it would be equally wobbly and not having that perfectly vertical or 90 degrees to the table will cause poor results, especially with those narrow edges remaining. Might I suggest a super wide flattening bit, and lay the board with the bottom down? Only thing is that it tilts the wrong way in respect to the fence, but that should be an easy fix.

Great looking table. Dust collection should be mounted on the bottom of the back and you will need air flow so some holes in the door top will make your dust collection actually collect dust.

I would put a 2nd dust collector hole at the bottom, so that it can suck up heavier dust, wich doesn't get sucked up by the upper hole, and prevents your workshop of dust, when jou open it.

Sealed door will cause airflow issue. You have to replace the air you are moving and the opening at the top of your lift is not enough especially when you are using such a tight ring. The placement of the hole in the back is great because you will be collecting small particles at the source. larger pieces are not dangerous to your lung as much as the smaller particles. Great job though!
