How to Build Your Personal Brand: What if You Had to Start Over?
I'm often asked, "What if You had to build your brand from scratch?" If I had to do my personal branding all over again, what would I do to promote myself and build my KZbin channel and online presence? Well, I'd do exactly what I did the first time, more aggressively and more consistently.
HOW TO BUILD YOUR PERSONAL BRAND FROM SCRATCH
Understand what you do well and what you have to offer other people. Once you understand that, identify platforms that play to your strengths and let you communicate that.
BUILD A WEBSITE FOR YOUR PERSONAL BRAND
Setup a website to be the hub of your personal brand. It doesn't have to be too fancy at first. Just something that helps you direct people to who you are and what you do and gives you a professional email address to use.

Once you know the platforms to capitalize on with your Personal Brand, start building your personal branding assets, come up with your bio, you profile pictures, your story in 60 seconds, and your content strategy. Be consistent and put out as much content as possible and ignore your numbers. Don't look at the bloody numbers, PERIOD. Not for the first year to 2 years...
HOW TO BUILD A PERSONAL BRAND ON KZbin
First of all, you have to not think of yourself as a "KZbinr" or aspire to "make it on KZbin". That's not going to get you anywhere. Understand that KZbin is a platform, yes a platform with it's own deeply entrenched culture. Learn it, understand it, and then ignore the parts of it that don't fit with what you're trying to accomplish. Understand your goals and put out content that accomplishes your goals outside of views and subscribers.
Do not do KZbin for KZbin sake... understand how KZbin grows your brand as a whole, do not worry about growing on KZbin itself at the expense of your brand.

Hey Roberto! You are 32, I'm 64. Retired. I was here before the internet and social media and even before computers. Did the same work with the old tools. But, also did the same as you. Spent every moment focused on how to do better for my clients and bosses and my family. Never stopped learning about new technology. I went from "stat cameras", "paste-up" and "rubylith" to Macintosh and Adobe. It was an exciting time. Everything you said about how you would change if you had to do it over...well I would do the same. Took me years to learn how to network. Over the years, I ended up working with some of the most well know companies in the world. Never suspected that would happen but it did because I was committed to what I do. Being creative and giving everything I could to the best end result. Roberto, you are so great to be able to share these great insights at such a young age. Everyone is the truth, if one is willing to choose that path. I'll also share that I thought I often neglected my family because I was so focused on work. I never took all of the vacation time given me. Worked 50-60 hours a week. Even when I was "on vaction" I thought about work. But, later, when I was ready to retire and admitted to my kids that I thought I had let them down, they both said, "That's crazy, you were always there for us." It's true I guess. Never missed a ballgame or school program or a birthday or anything. It does take a lot. But it is worth it if you can end up satisfied that you did well. Also, when you "retire", you still need to "Create Something Awesome Today!"

Anyway, Chiu's studio has worked on a bunch of visual development for the film industry and I remember in his videos around 2008-ish were like, "if you want to do these things, you have to give up X, Y, and Z". Roberto Blake from a creator standpoint the video was really good because you were personal and connected with the audience, you were passionate, made really good points, good lighting, and is inspiring. From a personal standpoint it was really good because something I talk a lot about on my channel is minimalism. I started this journey and it is changing my life!! You didn't use the word minimalism but you mentioned a few times about things that sounded to me like you are a minimalist....whether it be conscience or subconscious.
