If the buildings slotted in next to each other seamlessly it would be an instant sell for me. They could've done it too, like they grow legs when they move but when they're still they sit down and put their appendages away and snug next to each other.

This game, interestingly enough, reminds me a little of Reus, which I thought Jon played in the past, but I can't find on the channel. In the game, you control four gods/monsters; one builds forests, one builds swamps, one builds deserts, and one builds mountains. Your job is to help civilization grow and develop on the planet, by making sure they're well fed and rich and happy and so on. They get food and wealth and happiness by gathering things from near their village, so you and your god/monsters have to develop the terrain around it. But the thing is, resources might only evolve if the right preconditions are met and there are the right synergistic relationships. So, for instance, a bird might evolve to a better type of bird (and provide more food for the town) only if it's next to berry bushes. So you always have to think, not just of the changes to the space you want to change, but to all the spaces near it.

I don't understand gentrification and white flight. If a white person moves to a majority minority area, it is gentrification, but if they move away from a majority minority area, it is white flight. So my question is, when is it ok for white people to move, because these two definitions seem to imply that white people moving is inherently bad. I'm open to debate.
@Emsicle3D3 жыл бұрын
@@matthewslentz5481 I think the whole 'gentrification' thing is mostly about living costs increasing because white people are moving into the area. Basically, it's not that white people are moving in, it's the systemic bullshit with economics that happens when white people move in.
@milkshakebarrage95813 жыл бұрын
Americans find the most absurd things to moralize out of boredom. Truly a remarkable people.
@Tarantulah3 жыл бұрын
@@matthewslentz5481 Gentrification isn't 'a white person moving somewhere' it's the instalation of facilities and renovation of buildings with the intent to increase house prices and get richer (often white) people to move into a neghbourhood and price out the poorer (often racial minorities) residents that already lived there (who often don't even get the benefits of higher house prices since they're renting or they were bought out of the area before the increase) White flight is a systemic relocation of white people from an area that is becoming more racially diverse in order to basicly enforce segrigation after it was no longer the law mostly in the 50s and 60s. This would allow things like reduced funding to schools would then be almost entirely attended by people of colour by racist governments I will provide the disclamer that I am A) white and B) not a historian or academically studied up on these topics. That being said neither gentrification nor white flight reffer to the individual act of a white person moving (though it can contribute to the systemic changes)
