Nice to find this in you tube. I completed my apprentiship 71-75. The last 18 months in the veh. experimental dept. under Ted Brookes and having the rebuilded original car in the shop. Nice to see the credited names at the end of the film. I worked with these guys during my time in the Exp. engine dept. Hope all are keeping well. After 3 year working for Ted I had the honour of working for Norman Dewis 78-86 (who of course had the accident at MIRA with the original) years before. Thanks to Norman I met my wife 1983 as he sent me to the Nardo testing circuit. Thanks Norman RIP. Ralph...

You must have started not long after me, I did my apprenticeship from 64 to 69 and ended up working for Harry Mundy in power unit design, leaving Jaguar in 76. I designed the battery box and parts of the gear change linkage for the XJ13…..very important parts……😅

Holy moly!!! That is absolutely gorgeous body work. The team you selected are all truly artists in metal fabrication. The exhausts will look fantastic too, cannot wait to see more of this project.

Just goes to show that the British have the finest engineers, designers and craftsmen anywhere in the world bar none, the Germans don't come close. Beautiful, it's like recreating a Spitfire for the road. Heavens knows what it costs, but it must be worth every penny spent.

I was lucky enough to sit in the drivers seat of the XJ13... whilst Norman Dewis stood next to me, telling me about how it drove, how it crashed, and how to get out of it... tiny door, high step, very low... quite awkward!

Rod Tempero builds fine cars. His XJ13 (as I am sure he would be the first to admit) is rather different to the 1966 original above and (especially) below the skin.
