Sure happy to share this - so my bass management is with the Minidsp - I have 3 subs. I have the subs all aligned - with PEQ filters generated in REW) and then aligned again with the front left and right speakers to get a nice response and for that to happen my front left and right speakers are crossed over at 110Hz, and all my remaining speakers cross over at 80Hz. This was after a lot of testing and trial and error and room sweeps in REW.

The final form of the room looks great Tony, and I bet it sounds absolutely amazing! : ) And now that your room is "done" I have some suggestions for movie scenes for you to experience with your new speakers and room acoustics that I think will easily top the "Airport scene" in Civil War... So these are the top Dolby Atmos mixes that I've experienced in my room, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts on them once you check them out in your amazing room! #1 Ready Player One "Car race sequence" #2 Deadpool 4k "opening 15-20 minutes" #3 Man of Steel 4K "Opening sequence on Krypton"

@TerminatorJuice3 жыл бұрын
@@BuildMontage I'm a big fan of great bass as well, but only if it is accompanied by clear sound effects and music! And the 3 movies I listed have great mixes that let you hear the music, the dialog, the surround effects AND thunderous bass, all without losing the clear separation of all the channels in the soundstage. And no matter which movie it is for you, it's always good to have that one demo scene that you know inside and out, so that anytime you make a change to your system, you have a reference to know what effect it had in your room. For me it's Ready Played One all the way! And I bet I've watched that race sequence at least 20 times in the span of 6 months when doing all my upgrades... Man that is some great bass and perfect use of all of the surround and height channels! : )

Been a while since I saw the last home theater tour that you linked but man what an improvement in the last year or so. Do you have a UPS battery backup for your projector? Definitely worth getting as in the scenario where you lost power while watching you could fry your bulb because when your turn off the projector they usually will run for a bit to cool off the bulb before actually turning off which wouldn't happen in this scenario.

Unfortunately I reached out to the company with no reply. I live in the US (California) & that may be the issue. The speakers look impressive & I love the front modular design. Also like the specs that they are not super deep taking up too much real estate. Enjoy your enthusiasm & videos.
@BuildMontage9 ай бұрын
Thanks Gary - I have changed a lot of things since this tour - you can see my updated one on my channel page. And no, Krix do not sell in the USA, so you would possibly have to try another brand similar like Klipsch or Monitor Audio which do a similar style to Krix, however, Krix are the pioneers of this design releasing in 2015.

No smoothing on that. That's a live sweep with PEQ filters added. Blew us away as well how good the response was after adding the filters. We worked on that for around 3 weeks on and off.

@@BuildMontage Are you sure???I would check with Leo,I would guess it has 1/6 Oct smoothing. If there is no smoothing, that is BY FAR the smoothest "Subs + speakers" "in-room" response I've ever seen in the 100Hz to 200hz range . Tony. Should I get a QNAP or a Synology? I'm a novice NAS user, not super technical. Like I've never setup a RAID or done any of that. Also, am I better to set it up as a RAID or just regular drives and then backup to USB drives / static backups?
@BuildMontage3 жыл бұрын
I’ve experience with both. I prefer Synology personally. And yes you can and should use a raid of some kind to protect against disk failure :)
@commanderrussels26123 жыл бұрын
@@BuildMontage What do you like about the Synology? Easier to use? Better software? I'd be using it for Plex and then I'd like to setup my own personal "Dropbox".

That's a Theater alright! Nice. The Denon 8500 is a beast. Are you happy with the sound? I've always preferred Denon over Marantz myself for sound but that's always a personal thing. Glad you're enjoying the fruits of your labor after all that hard work. Awesome

Yes very happy with the sound for now, until I get separates but ill still be keeping the Denon

Thanks! First time shooting in Vlog on the Lumix G9 and doing the correction and grade and as it’s dark I had to deal with some noise but I can see the potential!

Brilliant Home Theater Tony. Just wondering what is the distance between the back of your seats and the back wall?
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Well the room has been redone AGAIN! I am actually working on the new video tour... The back row is around 1m from the back wall.. so not ideal but still enough channel separation - and the Trinnov makes it work like magic.
