This is hard to watch! To think that you are calling it quits on The Home Cinema. It’s like the last episode of Breaking Bad, Friends, or Neighbors.I just don’t want it to end. But wait just like the The Eagles Hell Freezes Over tour we know that there is always one more show, oh and did I here Neighbors is coming back? So end game is just another word for wait till the next upgrade. Congratulations mate, it’s been one hell of a ride and I am so proud of what you have achieved not just the HT but with your channel. Looking forward to celebrating 40k very soon and 100k soon after. Sky is the limit my friend.

Please do a video on the HDFury Vrroom! I would love to know if this is an accessible and effective solution to having Dolby Vision on a projector, and if it is compatible with my JVC RS2100/NZ7. For instance, wondering if there are tone-mapping conflicts between the HDFury and the NZ7. Amazing room, I’m definitely jealous but in the most respectful way 😂. Congratulations on being able to enjoy such a high-end setup and your continuing success with your channel and business ventures!

Finally!!! Been anticipating this video for a while Tony, and it didn't disappoint! Simply gorgeous! It feels strange when you finish a long project and suddenly you don't have anything to work on for your room, doesn't it? ; ) So now it's time to just sit back and watch as many movies as possible... And with that new JVC, it'll be like seeing most of them for the first time!
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
💯 right! But I have so many other projects so it’s not really a problem. I have upstairs and also heaps of new products to review - but most importantly can actually enjoy the room for what it is bow
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
@@BuildMontage Every time I 've finished one of my bigger home theater projects over the past 3 years, I usually follow that up with a 1 to 2 month break from doing any other kinds of projects around the house, and there's always a period in the beginning where I feel like I should be doing something... Lol Also, I have a few questions related to you experiencing movies in your end game home cinema. 1) What older movie(s) surprised you the most with its image and/or sound quality? 2) Now that you have a true 4K projector, have you noticed the difference between movies shot on film versus movie shot digitally? And do you have a preference? 3) With your Trinov and 4 subs, I'm curious if you have experienced any movies(usually older films) where you felt like you needed to do a bass boost? For example, I have to do +7 on my sub level to get any decent bass out of Gladiator on 4K. 4) Tony James's pick for best sounding movie?
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Let me have a think… 1) Fifth Element. Amazing movie. Amazing in 4K with Dolby Vision. 2) Yes - lots more noise in film movies. It’s a fine line with the noise reduction and frame adapt tone mapping to get it right. 3) no need to do anything Trinnov with 4 subs is insane. All I need to do is crank up the volume and it’s great. 4) Best sounding movie so far for me is a toss up between Prey on Disney+ (I know right!!??) and Dune.
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
@@BuildMontage 1) For 4K UHD I'll say Blade Runner. For Standard Blu-ray I'll say Rush Hour 2(Great colors and No CGI to bring the image quality down) 2) I easily prefer movies shot on 35 mm, because they tend to look incredible in HD/UHD. Movies shot digitally are hit and miss so far IMO... Especially ones with a lot of CG finished at 2K, which stands out a lot more on the JVC 3) I find that a lot of older movies don't have as much LFE punch in my setup, so I created a second speaker pattern with +3 for the subwoofer level, which I can instantly activate with 1 click of the remote. 4) Overall I have Blade Runner 2049 as the king of audio, even tho that opening exposes all my room's rattles in the dang drop ceiling... ; ( Lol

It's been a bit - live reaction time! So much sexy KRIX...love it. The BM branded seats are amazing. I hope to sit my happy butt in them soon :) That Trinnov looks SO stinkin' slick! Oh man - January 2020 and that baby beard! You look like a different man in that video! Congrats on the (soon) 40k subs! It makes me smile that something like the uneven back walls started a new obsession to perfect things. Similar to me, mate. OCD is a real thing :) Front wides is something I need to experience to understand how they work in a setup. Again - KRIX speakers are SO sexy. "Hatched a plan" = months of work and lots of money :) #BuildThatWall Dude - that BM logo in the middle of your riser floor - perfection!!! That curtian job was much more than I realized - you did 3 walls. I thought it was just your "window wall". I imagine that those curtains knock down reflections bigly. YES YES YES on a 4th subwoofer...pressurize that room!!! What's up Michael? That BM hoodie is awesome...I need to order one Those acoustic panels look sick! Valencia are so slick - those front row seats are probably a lot of fun for guest and the kids. Nice way to integrate them into the room. That POV shot is awesome showing the front from your MLP. I Believe That My Home Theater Takes The Ultimate 1st Place Not Only In Design Concept But Also In The Simple Fact That There Is No ☝️Other Home Theater 🎭 As Technically Advanced As Ours. Your Home Theater Is Following The Same Design Principles And Template As Its A Designated Room With A Dead Hung Movie Screen. Ours I Added The Most Important Feature In A Theater. ☝️The STAGE! Yes 👍 I Said A Stage. And ☝️Just Not Any Stage But A Fully Functional And Programmable SMART Stage That Transforms Upon Command Into All Of The Various Different Stage Elements And Modes. Simply Tap On MC = Master Control Tablet And Watch The Entire Stage Come Alive As Different Various Scene Elements Start Appearing From High Above You and Start Descending From The Ceiling Down To The Floor. Now That Is What You Call A Home Theater.

In my opinion even with the most expensive equipments you can't feel sitting in an actual cinema, I don't know what magic is behind of that.
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
The magic is the huge open space - however - the cinema is an inferior experience in my opionion (outside of IMAX) because unlike a home theater where you can optimize for the main seat, the cinema has to cater for many many seats. I saw JW4 at a cinema, and was not impressed. The audio was shrieking, the picture was blurry - and this was supposed to be a world class cinema. For me, the experience at home I have now is perfection.
@Gshiznit74 Жыл бұрын
Until you've experienced quality Home Theater, you just won't understand. I feel that because the environment is more comfortable and intimate, it just becomes that much more immersive. Add to that superior image and sound, and it's absolutely an annihilation of movie complexes. Also, no annoying kids, noisey people, flash photography, the list goes on. Tony, your room is legit!! So is your video production as always 👌

Amazing room!!! I actually liked the front seats a lot! It just looks like they should be a little lower compared to the main seats, at least from some camera angles. How do you control content to watch? Tablet? Harmony? Multiple controllers? There are some solutions, devices and services that provide music and media remote control app with visual UI, like Spotify and Plex, but some only give a touch pad and basic controls like the Apple TV (last time I checked). Would be nice, a video, or at least one take on a video, with the complete experience, in first person, from entering the room, siting, lights, controls and browsing, start playing. Thanks for sharing!
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Yes I should have made the rise a little bit higher - but as I mentioned I shouldn't even have a front row and it's not a real front row to be fair, just seats for when people come over so they don't sit on the floor. 99% of the time it's just me in the middle back row

I’ve been there believe me. Lots of sacrifice when the kids are young and I have 3 with my youngest now 11, it’s only very recently I’ve been able to do this and also because of KZbin I have been very fortunate to make connections and earn the pocket money. You will get there one day for sure!! It’s totally worth it :)

The Krix hat make a few appearances in the video :) I need to reposition my overhead mic as the bill from the had obstructs the audio - hence no hat lately :)

Oh yes even with the awesome black levels on JVC u can still see very faintly the bars but it’s so minimal I don’t even notice. Horizontal masking is insanely difficult.

How do you find the upgrade with the Hyperphonix over the IW-50? I have them at the moment and considering the Hyperphonix for front wides and considered doing the same as you and upgrading all of them to match.
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
They iw-50 were fine for my room but the h45 are a big step up in performance. Gives a bigger sound in my room for sure. Plus look great and helped with my vision of the room.

What a great room and a dream to have been able to see it grow ( very early supporter here ). Just a question, I noticed you have front wides..... was it worth it / do they get a lot of use and is it noticeable eg. Would you ever go back to not having wides again ? Thank you again and keep up the GREAT work :D

@Build Montage Wonderful video, wonderful theater, and a wonderful journey you have been on Tony! I had been waiting for this video and I love the curtains. Can you explain the “S look” of the curtains? Is that what it’s call with how they hang and drape? I’m looking to add some curtains to my room as well and one thing we’re struggling with is how to keep them uniform and “even” as they are opened. I basically want the look you have with the curtains. How did you accomplish this?
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Yes that is exactly it. Called S wave - they have a string that they hook onto which keeps them uniform. Where are you located? It may be called something different overseas.
@ZeonStar77 Жыл бұрын
@@BuildMontageThanks for the reply. Im in the US, in California.

I think Google S wave curtains that should find you some options.

Question - what have you done about your shutters? Mine resonate with the bass and I need to constantly make small adjustments to them. When a big bass boom hits, forget about it, they all shake. Maybe this is not an issue for you, but something you may have found a way to tame. Great theater BTW!
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Thanks, and no mine don’t make any kind of rattle, I’ve had rattled over the years but now it seems to have stopped since I have the curtains.
@iverson_s13 Жыл бұрын
Awesome build. The attention to detail is fantastic. I'd love to know more about how you installed the side surrounds and wides in front of the curtain. Does the curtain have a break in it or is there a slit cut in the fabric?
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Yes we cut slits in the curtains to allow the brackets to space out a bit to give the required depth without it pinching. I had to cut some of the minute detail from the video as it was already at 19m - it could have easily been 45m :)

Is there a building code stopping you from bedding over your window? Not much use for a window in a theater. Glass does vibrate.
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Yes legally there needs to be a second egress. zero vibrations though with acoustic panels over it as well as the curtains. I guess I got lucky.

Awesome upgrades, and setup! How were the Dacmagics connected to allow the Trinnov to see the extra channels within the processor and treat it as extra channels? I am saving for an Trinnov ALT 16, but I will have more than 16 channels of sound as well.
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
Yes the dacmagic take a digital coax and a toslink and they can pass two channels each. It’s quite seamless and easy to setup and best used for the subs.

Man your room is almost the exact same dimensions as the room I have planned for a future theater. Always worried it might be a bit too small but this made me feel like it won’t be an issue. I’ve followed you for a while but never realized your room was on the smaller side. It looks a lot larger in the videos. Awesome room Tony, really enjoying your channel. Content is very entertaining for us home theater hobbyists.

How far are the surround left and rights from the mlp? 10.6’ wide room? Also do you have a video going over the ceiling? Is it false etc. lighting.
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
The speakers are 1.75m from the mlp. I have a star ceiling video showing my dropped star ceiling which has acoustic properties - just search for Star Ceiling and my video will come up.

Absolute stunning video will defo be giving it a rewatch I am about to install new surround speakers and am torn between having them mounted at ear height or mounted higher could I ask the height of your room, as I see your surrounds are mounted higher than ear height and wondered about the separation from your surrounds and height speakers regards Andy
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
My speakers are just over ear level, and the dispersion of the speakers works well for my seated position. I have a very high ceiling at 3m so lots of Channel separation.. they are more like in line with the shoulder if that makes sense as u can see the height clears the back of the seats
@andrewmorrison8033 Жыл бұрын
@@BuildMontage Thanks for the quick reply Tony 3 meters would make all the difference unfortunately I only have the UK standard 2.4 meter ceiling height so I am torn between clearing the back of the seats or maintaining as much channel separation as possible I am making faux columns to mount my in-wall surrounds so I want to get it right just watched the video again and man your room has changed so much over the years those Krix surrounds, the rear panels and the way the curtains are pleated make such a difference great job
