But one can be taught to do it in a relatively short time compared to actually getting 10/10 out of a car on a course and doing everything quickly, not stopping as soon as there's a bend. Whether built or bought, there is a wide gulf in skill required between the two and although pro drag guys are " real " racers, there are " real " racers who may not be able to rebuild an engine but can push that car to its limits in more than a straight line. That's when you can actually see which is the more capable machine in practice and not just one aspect.

I had a 96 tsi fwd, all the go fast parts. That car was an absolute rocket. Broke a timing belt and the engine was never right again. Rebuilt it twice. Man, I miss that car.

I bought a built 99 eclipse turbo vert from a guy in Vegas for Ma wife. I loved that car. When it built boost u could hurt feelings or stick a gurl in the passenger seat and she would ask u to fight her box later.

91 black and sliver TSi (best looking 1g DSM IMO) 16g on 19psi pump, wally 255, supra side mount, boucher 3", shep stage 2 trans, act 2600 + lightweight flywheel, HKS SSQV, old school Apexi AFC, DSMLink ECU and a lot of other lat 90's early 2ks mods. Lots of weight reduction. High 11 second car, looked bone stock with no FMIC (minus the exhaust)

Actually it’s DSM which is a collaboration between Chrysler and Mitsubishi. So it’s half American and half import.

Alot of the talon/eclipe/laser platform was taken from Mitsubishi, but famous Chrysler designer Dennis Myles also had a hand in the design.

My cousin had a 96 tsi awd talon and that thing was wild. He eventually fell into the inevitable break-build-repeat and I lost contact with him in the early 2000s but I can 100% credit him for my healthy addition for racing.

Nice! 1G DSM was my first car ever, drove the hell out of my '93 1GB but always thought the 1GA's looked cooler w/pop up lights.Trolled a LOT of people back then with that car doing digs, I re-wired the fuel pump, had a Catless Turboback exhaust and an MBC set to 15psi w/stock 14B turbo. This video is really making me want to buy one again and keep it simple w/16G or 20G, E85 and DSMlink.

Daily Driven Exotics bought the burnyard and renamed it "The Block" in Ken's honor, something that WheelPros never had any interest in doing for a fallen man. Suppy and the garage crew; fired by WheelPros for nothing, did them all dirty. Danger Dan; gone and now at RTR. Nads; gone. Vin; gone. Hert; gone. Scotto; gone. The only people left are Gary (who is probably the only one worth watching at this point), Zack, Micah, and Georjah....who in my opinion adds absolutely nothing to the channel or the dynamic as she's just a decoration/eye candy peice. We're watching the slow death of HOONIGAN in real time.

I love old dsm turbo. I worked on the hood ones the mid late 90s talon, eclipse and once a duster. They ran pretty well but respond to mods like a mug. At the time I thought they were junk though. I was early 20s in that era at the dealer as a mechanic.

I remember the Shepherd Racing Talon. There was a time when that car made an unimaginable number of sub 8 second passes in the qrtr mile consecutively without fail. I forgot how many times the guy did it but it was impressive. Then he took her apart and showed not much wear on the Manley Rods he had in it. Sick car. Never had one myself but I bought my son a 06 Evo 9 MR back in the day. Loved it so much I bought myself one too. Lol 4g63 power in those as well. Fun cars. Kept mine pristine and stock. My son tho lol well swapped the 6 speed for a built 5 spd and did some bolt on hard parts threw some tunes on the ecm and that car was nuts. There was the Buschur Racing Evo too Badbish they called it. That car was NASTY

the shoot was to keep him straight as he stood on those brakes..lol. i drive a 500hp dsm and i love how people under estimate, cuz old car . but a well maintained and built dsm is a weapon mine is built for back rouds/touge used to be a drifter but got priced out. i just do it for the love now. next to the FD the dsm is my favorite of the legends. will always love an s13 though.
