I love Filipino good. I was introduced to their food from my Filipino wife. Sadly she passed away and I live in Pennsylvania. No Filipino food near me. I have been to Eagle Rock. Many good pinoy restaurants to choose from. Thanks for the videos.

Hi there, sorry to hear about your wife, condolences. I grew up in the Wilkes-Barre area in a small country side. But there are a lot of Pinoys in the Wilkes Barre area. My mom used have her own sari sari store for the local pinoys. We used to go to New Jersey and New York City to get her stock for her store. Many of them are still there but some have closed down due to the pandemic.

it's so underrated, because a lot of foreigners doesn't know how eat our dish properly,, only a few of them knows that all main dish are paired with rice.. and some pinoy restaurants doesn't even teach their guest how the foods are eaten..

We call our breakfasts with garlic fried rice and egg, "-silog". The main protein that goes with it determines the first part of the name. Goes like this: Si ‐ short for sinangag (fried rice) Log - short for itlog (egg) The front part of the name: Tap - tapa, beef jerky type Long - longganisa, pork sausage To - tocino, pork jerky type Bang - bangus, marinated fried milk fish. And there you go! Oh, don't forget the vinegar sauce to dip all of the meats in. Yum!
@shays78153 жыл бұрын
Yes, tocino is the filipino bacon. I love tocino, longganisa, and tapa. Add some fresh pandesal and spanish rolls. Oh yeah. Yummy.

Watching from Philadelphia. I grew up in Eaglerock. And it slowly became popular with lots of Filipinos. I am half Filipino myself. If you want more Filipino food, go to the Cerritos area. Nice! SiLog Combo meals🥰 Silog is acronym for Sinangag (garlic fried rice) and Log (Itlog - Eggs). Here's the list you had in order: ToSiLog (To is Tocino - cured sweet pork) LongSiLog (Long -Longganisa - Filipino style cured pork sausage) TapSiLog (Tapa - Beef strips marinated in Soy sauce, calamansi, salt and pepper) CornSiLog (Corn - corned beef) Hopia - you definitely got a better one this time. Flaky dough and hefty filling. The third hopia you had is the basic filling, the other two are variations of it. Egg pie - egg custard with the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. Next you have to learn is using fork and spoon in Filipino style 😁❤️❤️❤️

I hear some of my Filipinos talking in the background. Those items that you got are breakfast menus and you might wonder they all have SILOG in their names (SI-sinangag which means Fried rice and LOG-Itlog which is Egg) Then the first syllables of the names of each are came from the first syllables of the meats (TOcino-Tosilog) (TAP-Tapsilog) (longanisa-Longsilog) (CORNbeef-Cornsilog)
