Given that the surface is porous - and considering that bitumen is far from the optimal choice for this application - I strongly recommend applying a second coat. Ideally, this should be done using a superior alternative, specifically a fibre-reinforced bitumen adhesive ... such as RooFix (else Aquaplan's Roof Glue or an equivalent product). RooFix is reinforced with fibreglass strands, resulting in a significantly stronger and more durable coating. Not only does it provide a far superior water seal, but unlike bitumen, it remains structurally stable under intense heat and will not soften in extreme sunlight. Furthermore, its enhanced strength allows it to be safely walked on without compromising its integrity. Products like RooFix typically come with a 10-year (or longer guarantee), offering both reliability and peace of mind; and in addition to being able to buy such in black, other colours are available that you may find more pleasing - given that you intend to use the area recreationally. You may wish to watch demonstration / promotional videos for such products, on KZbin, that show how easy it is to apply, and how it is a far better for sealing flat roofs etc. than bitumen.

hey up O.G.Nomad,you could use a wall unit on the floor, just fit feet ,rather that cut a base unit down..hope that helps 👍

I live in Czech Republic have done for 15 years now. I'm glad you are getting sorted down there. It's such a shame for many Brits that Mr Farage and his cohorts have made living in the EU now so difficult. Quite fancy a place a bit warmer so might be getting myself down there too soon.
