So inspiring, I'm impressed with the uwunwrapping via smart unwrap that worked nicely even on this model. It's really instructive how it results nicely detailed even if you don't use a lot of supporting loops ( or at least you use a lot less then I would have, leading me to think that I over abuse them, ahahahhaha).

I just watched all 33 minutes of it and it flew by like 5 minutes. I am surprised how big a proportion of time the post took. It looks like it makes sense to first learn proper post techniques before delving into 3D.

DmytroDoblevych Wow, Thank you very much! But if I actually knew a proper way to do it, it could have taken only a couple of minutes I guess. However, on top of that, I'm using a destructive compositing method here, which doesn't allow you to go back if you have for example blurred some part of the image too much and then collapsed the image. I try to learn to do the compositing straight in Blender. Watch my Fishy-Cat tutorial about that kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmHNZ36nqJWieJo Thanks!

Manu Järvinen I just re-read my comment and I realized it can be perceived as if I'm criticizing your post-production skills. This isn't the case, I was only making a mental note to myself. Your skills are awesome.

DmytroDoblevych Aa, hehe :P No no, I didn't perceive it like that. I was just saying that there are better ways to do the same thing. The method I used is not very good for professional studio, for example. It's so hard to make changes if the end-result is not liked. Thanks for the nice words :)

Jörn Ohmen I actually used both the dirty vertex colors and worn edges map. They yield different kind of results. Worn edges are more sharp white edges.

Cool video, it looks like you finished modelling in few hours, how long did it really take to finish row modelling?

Perhaps in the future. That's a bit complicated stuff, so I would need to prepare it well. However, CGCookie's material/shading lessons are superb!

It might be this, if I remember correctly: www.glg-3d-designer.it/work/moyo/ - however, I have added the background gradient and properties/tools-panel transparency from the settings

Saif Mohamd Sure. Even though I'm suspecting it doesn't work well. But here's the .xml bit.ly/ManuTheme If it works, then excellent :)
